Halo Infinite has finally launched after much waiting and after the poor reception of Halo 5: Guardians, much had to be accomplished. The burden was not only on the campaign, but also on the multiplayer component of the famous sci-fi first-person shooter.

Halo has a legacy in multiplayer games that cannot be denied as its predecessors played a huge part in the popularization and progression of multiplayer first-person shooters. So the burden for Halo Infinite was not small, but many problems plagued it.

In addition to the still horrendous matchmaking issues plaguing the players, there are also other complaints from the community such as the lack of content, especially maps. Previous halo games had many iconic maps, but Infinite seems to be lacking. however, this could change quickly.

Main takeaways:

  • Halo 3’s Pit arrives in Halo Infinite.
  • It was created by the developers directly in Infinite’s Forge.
  • It will be released shortly after the November winter update.

This was only recently revealed in today’s HCS stream. For those who don’t know, the Halo Championship Series is the official and premier eSports competition created and maintained by 343 Industries.

The league sets a standard for tournament rules and mode settings for use in official tournaments. 343 Industries originally teamed up with Electronic Sports League (ESL) to host tournaments, but later moved to their own event.

During today’s HCS stream, the developers officially revealed that the beloved map from the even more beloved game Halo 3, The Pit, would later return in Halo Infinite.

The official HCS Twitter and YouTube account tweeted a video featuring clips from past Halo 3 matches, of historic moments in The Pit.

The video suddenly sends us down a rabbit hole of nostalgia and gives us a brief look at the map as it will appear in Halo Infinite.

In addition, it was revealed in the stream that the map is entirely made in Halo Infinite’s iteration of the Forge and is being made by the official developers. In addition, it was also revealed that it will arrive shortly after the upcoming Winter Update For Infinite, which will arrive in November.

At the moment we don’t know if this will be a one-off or if more maps from previous Halo games will be added in the future, but we certainly hope that other maps will officially come into the game as well.

Otherwise there is always the fan community with their limitless creativity, combined with the now very advanced Forge. This has led to the creation of many wonderful things, such as a fan-created BR mode, Mario’s Lava level, or even a brand new boss.

A video posted to HCS’s official YouTube channel gives us a closer look at the map through an overpass. However, it should be noted that the map is still in progress and subject to change during development.

This is certainly exciting news for all Halo fans, not just Halo Infinite or Halo 3. Moreso because today is a special day in Halo’s history. Today marks 15 years since Halo 3 was first released on September 25, 2007 on the Xbox 360.

To celebrate this momentous date, the official Halo Twitter account posted a montage video of moments from the critically acclaimed Halo 3.

Halo Infinite is not a small name in gaming, just as the Halo series is not unknown to many. Halo launched alongside the first Xbox console, one of the first exclusives, and took the world by storm. It quickly became one of the best first-person shooters of its time, with its compelling story, lovable characters, and exciting gameplay.

With the release of Halo 2, Halo became a household name among console owners. Taking advantage of the newly launched Xbox Live services and online features of Xbox consoles, it quickly rose to stardom.

Not only was the gameplay vastly improved, but the story was also quite brilliant and engaging, not to mention the multiplayer component that garnered the most acclaim.

Halo 2 has contributed greatly to the popularity of online console gaming, but especially first-person shooter games. Subsequent Halo games also had their own contributions that made them great games. As such, Halo Infinite has a lot to accomplish. We sincerely hope that 343 Industries works hard and delivers with this game.
