The 14th-ranked Utah Football team hosts San Diego State this Saturday at 8 p.m. It is Utah’s annual Ute Proud game and will recognize the Ute Tribe and put on a halftime appearance on the field.

As part of the Ute Proud game, the Ute Tribe Business Committee will be recognized on the field during a first quarter timeout and the Ute Tribe will perform on the field during halftime. The Utah Gymnastics program, which finished third in the nation at last year’s NCAA Championships, will also be recognized on the field during the competition.

Fans coming to Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday will find a variety of helpful information and links below to assist with all aspects of match day preparation. Arrive early to avoid the last minute crowds waiting to enter the stadium gates and fill the stadium to give the Utes a loud welcome as they take the field for kick-off!

Several improvements to the game-day experience will be made for Saturday’s game, as a result of the partnership between Utah Athletics and the U’s Auxiliary Services Department, which operates Stadium and Arena Event Services. Those improvements include changes to improve efficiency at stadium gate access and concession stands, as well as modifications designed to reduce congestion in the concourse. Additional staff will be deployed in key areas to improve the overall fan experience and customer service.

The 72nd consecutive sellout crowd for Utah Football is expected at Rice-Eccles Stadium as Utah brings a string of nine consecutive home wins into the game.

Cardholders are encouraged to download both their digital game tickets and parking tickets to the wallet on their smartphone before leaving for the stadium, arriving early. This leaves enough time to comfortably enter the stadium. Further instructions are available from the link above and in the sections below.

Single game tickets for Utah Football home games can be purchased here. A limited number of reserved tickets are available for purchase, while only standing tickets are available for Utah’s game against USC on October 15.

GAMEDAY FAN INFORMATION

DIGITAL TICKETS AND PARKING
Tickets and parking will be scanned on match day using the cardholder’s mobile device. They can also be transferred to others via email or text message.

  • To ensure a successful digital ticketing experience, fans are encouraged to download their tickets and parking tickets to the wallet on their smartphone (iPhone and Android) for presentation upon arrival at the parking lot and stadium gates to speed up the entry process.
  • Step-by-step instructions for the process have been emailed to subscribers and can be accessed online by logging into a subscriber’s account and selecting “Manage Tickets” from the drop-down menu, under Tickets.
  • It is also recommended that fans plan to arrive early to allow extra time for the entry process.

STADIUM GATES

The stadium gates will open two hours before kick-off at 6 p.m. on Saturday. To expedite the process for entry to Rice-Eccles Stadium, fans are encouraged to: arrive early and see the most efficient route from their parking lot or Trax station and determine the most suitable stadium gate for entry.

  • Fans park on campus areas north of the stadium can find fastest access through Honda Gate G, in the northeast corner of the stadium, at South Campus Drive, or continue to Gates H, J, or K.
  • Fans come from all plots east of the stadium are encouraged to walk toward 500 South and further west to the main entrance at Gate L, in the southeast corner of the stadium. This entrance is equipped with the largest number of staff and ticket scanners to handle high volume of traffic.
  • Those with seats on the east side or in the south side zoneeven if you park on the west lot it would also benefit from entering through Gate L at 500 South.
  • Students are encouraged to enter Rice-Eccles Stadium through Gate L for the fastest access to the MUSS section.
  • For those arriving via TRAXplease note that there are three gates to access on the west side of the stadium: Gates F, D and the Cauldron Stairs.
  • All major stadium gates also have a baggage-free line for quick access.

STADIUM POLICY

  • CLEAR BAG POLICY AND NO-BAG EXPRESS LANES
    Rice-Eccles Stadium will continue to have a clear bag policy and will provide baggage-free lanes at all main gates to help speed up entry for those who don’t bring a bag to the stadium. Only clear bags, up to 12″x18″, are allowed in the stadium. No bags, purses or duffel bags are allowed into the stadium.
  • WATER BOTTLES
    One factory-sealed bottle of water per person (1 liter or less) is allowed in the stadium. Bottled water should not be frozen. In an effort to be sustainable, empty personal water bottles (1 liter or less) are allowed. Glass water bottles are not allowed. Bottle filling stations can be found in the halls of Rice-Eccles Stadium.
  • CASHLESS CONCESSIONS
    To reduce the number of contact points and increase efficiencies in concession sales, Rice-Eccles Stadium has implemented cashless transactions at all concession stands. All sales are completed with credit cards or mobile payment apps from Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

PARKING LOTS
Parking lots open five hours before kick-off, with the exception of the Signature and tailgate lots, which open at 6 a.m. A parking ticket can be found here (PDF).
