UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football welcomes Ohio to Beaver Stadium on Saturday at noon. The match will be broadcast on ABC with Dave Pasch (play-by-play), Dusty Dvoracek (analyst) and Tom Luginbill (sideline) on the phone.

Fans are encouraged to visit Game Day Central for all information related to Penn State football game day traffic, parking, bag clearing policies, and game information. Real-time traffic, parking and gate information is shared on the Penn State Athletics Twitter account (@GoPSUsports) and the Beaver Stadium Twitter account (@beaver_stadium).

Penn State Athletics opens the gates to Beaver Stadium two hours before kick-off. Fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early to facilitate the entry process. For the first 45 minutes after the gates open, early-arriving fans will have the opportunity to receive a $1 discount for every $5 purchased at the concession stands (see below).

Penn State Opens Season No. 63 at Beaver Stadium

  • Penn State begins its 63rd season at Beaver Stadium.
  • The Nittany Lions are 120-13-1 all-time in home openers.
  • The Blue and White have a 52-10 record in the Beaver Stadium home openers.
  • Penn State has won 18 of its last 20 home openers.
  • Sean Clifford tied a career high with four passing touchdowns against Purdu last Thursday night, following with Mitchell Tinsley (12 meters) and Brenton Strange (67 yards) in the second quarter and KeAndre Lambert-Smith (29 meters) and Keyvone Lee (10 yards) in the fourth quarter. Clifford added a 2-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
  • Penn State registered a school-record 16 strides at Purdue. The 16 breakups equal the most in the FBS in a game since Tulane had 20 against East Carolina in 2018. Joey Porter Jr. broke up six times, setting a school record and tying a Big Ten record.

107k Family Reunion, State of Excellence, Youth Basketball and Spirit Day

  • Come to the 107k Family Reunion this Saturday as Penn State Football fans welcome back to Happy Valley for the 2022 home opener.
  • The celebration of State of Excellence Week culminates in recognition of the Nittany Lion student-athletes’ achievements in competition and in the classroom throughout the game.
  • Youth Spirit Day includes a pre-game cheer and dance clinic, as well as an opportunity for cheer and dance participants to perform during halftime.

Arrival team and Beaver Stadium Block Party

  • The Beaver Stadium Block Party starts at 8am
  • The arrival of the team is scheduled at approximately 10:00 am
  • The team gets off the blue buses and walks from Porter Road to the south tunnel.
  • The Penn State Blue Band marches to the center of the Block Party about an hour before the start of each game.

Fans advised to reinstall the Penn State Athletics mobile app

  • The official Penn State Athletics mobile app has moved.
  • If fans downloaded the mobile app before April 28, 2022, they will need to download a new app, as the app that was used last year is no longer supported.
  • If your app is called “Nittany Lions,” you have the current Penn State Athletics app.
  • If fans aren’t sure if they downloaded the Penn State Athletics app before April 28, 2022, follow these instructions to confirm.
    • First, completely uninstall the previous version of the app on your phone.
    • Second, go to the Google Play or App Store on your phone and search for “Penn State Nittany Lions” and click the download button.
    • If fans need further assistance, please visit gopsusports.com/mobiletickets or email support at golions@psu.edu.

Game day traffic pattern

  • Penn State Football’s game day traffic pattern will be back in place this season.
  • Go to gopsussports.com/gameday to learn your route to Beaver Stadium before you leave for the game.
  • One-way traffic will begin at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday.
  • With the Atherton Street construction project underway at State College, fans are asked to stay informed about construction and travel restrictions by visiting www.penndot.gov. Motorists can also keep up to date with the latest travel conditions at www.511PA.com. All lanes will remain open Friday and Saturday.

Parking

  • The parking lots will open at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
  • New this year, wild parking is no longer available for purchase at selected lots and can only be purchased (cash or credit) at lot 36.
  • The match day parking sale begins when the lots open until they are sold out or kick-off, whichever comes first.
  • Pre-purchased general parking lots cost $50 per car, while paying to park on match day on arrival on the general lots costs $60.
  • Fans are encouraged to purchase parking tickets in advance not only to take advantage of the savings, but also to make traffic and parking operations smoother by displaying the pass as they approach roads to the stadium parking.
  • Fans are asked to show their parking permit from their rear-view mirror as they enter the traffic pattern. Parking permits are scanned when entering the lots. Customers should approach their parking space as indicated on the back of their parking permit.
  • In the event that parking is exhausted on match day, parking is available on the East, Nittany, Eisenhower, and HUB parking decks on campus as long as space is available. In addition, parking is available at the Grange Fairgrounds. Fans must enter from the south or west to access the campus parking decks.

Mobile ticketing

  • Mobile ticketing remains the method of delivery for Penn State Football tickets for all games at Beaver Stadium.
  • Be sure to download mobile tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay on your phone before match day.
  • For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, visit gopsusports.com/mobiletickets.
  • Several charging stations are located in and around the Beaver Stadium, as well as the stands for external customer relations. The kiosks have charging units and adapters for iOS and Android devices.
  • To assist with the entry process at the gate, there are mobile ticket scanners and walk-through metal detectors at each entry point. There will be additional magnetometers and signage at several gates this season for enhanced security screening to streamline access to the gates.

Concessions Discounts for early arriving fans; Beaver Stadium Gates open at 10am

  • Early arriving fans will have the opportunity to get discounts at the concession stands every Saturday.
  • The gates to Beaver Stadium will open at 10 a.m. this Saturday. Fans get a $1 discount for every $5 spent during the first 45 minutes after the gates open.
  • Cash, credit card and LionCash purchases are accepted at the competition concession stands.

Fans reminded of the updated Penn State Athletics Bag Policy

  • Penn State University’s policy has undergone several revisions.
  • To make clear bag policies more fan-friendly and to align with major event policies across the country, the size of bags allowed has been increased. Clear carrier bags, which may measure 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or smaller, are allowed.
  • In addition, a small clutch or wristband measuring 4″ x 6″ x 1″ is still allowed.

Tailgating Memories

  • Fans are requested to be aware of cars entering and leaving the parking lot.
  • Penn State Athletics reminds fans to be respectful, show their Happy Valley Hospitality, and exhibit the behaviors that ensure Beaver Stadium’s bumpers are safe.
  • Intercollegiate Athletics has also worked diligently on recycling and sustainability at ICA events and activities. Those sustainability efforts include making recycling bags available in the Beaver Stadium parking lots. Fans are encouraged to be environmentally friendly and participate in Penn State’s recycling and sustainability efforts by separating recyclable items before, during and after the game.
  • Blue recycling bags and clear trash bags are located in the Beaver Stadium parking lots. Only bottles and cans are allowed in the blue recycling bags. All other items must be placed in the clear garbage bags.

CATA shuttle service

  • CATA will be offering Penn State’s home games through the Game Day Football Shuttle this season.
  • The South Atherton Shuttle serves the many hotels along South Atherton St. and several other parking lots.
  • Information on service updates and real-time route and timetable information is available through the myStop mobile app and at realtime.catabus.com.

RV Park Sold Out; RV sites and weekend shuttle available in Grange Park

  • All match day, season RV and Overnight RV is sold out for the 2022 season.
  • Fans who don’t have a RV parking permit will have to make other arrangements, and Penn State Athletics has identified Grange Park as a cost-effective alternative with hookups and a shuttle to campus on Fridays and Saturdays from home football weekends.
  • Fans wishing to park their RV in Grange Park can reserve a spot by calling 814-364-9212.

Guest service booths

  • Penn State has guest service booths at Beaver Stadium at Field-level Gates B, C, E, and F.
  • There is also a guest service booth on the North Hall, two on the South Hall and one on the North Upper Deck.
  • Fan support is also provided by the customer relations staff, by texting the word “Nittany” your issue and location to the phone number 69050, or by calling 1-800-NITTANY.

Pattern for one-way traffic after the game for about 90 minutes

  • University police have informed Intercollegiate Athletics that the vast majority of pedestrian traffic typically clears the area around Beaver Stadium about 90 minutes after the end of a game.
  • The one-way outbound traffic will be in effect for approximately 90 minutes from the end of the game and fans must leave their grounds following the directions for their specific traffic zone. During the majority of the game, there is a normal traffic pattern around Beaver Stadium.
  • Once the one-way street has ended (approximately 90 minutes after the game), fans can leave their grounds and exit the stadium area via any route.
