F1 Manager 2022 update tweaks tire and overlapping car performance

A heavy new F1 Manager 2022 update has landed today for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, fixing several AI, fuel, tire and stability issues.

Following the positive launch of F1 Manager 2022 and strong sales, Frontier Developments continues to refine its first foray into motorsport.

A new game patch, Update 1.8, is live for the title today (September 26, 2022) on PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Great job, guys. Seriously, you can take off your gloves now. Guys?

The main focuses for the changes, originally expected last week, are changes to tire performance, computer-controlled rival performance and fuel data.

When it comes to the rubber, the amount of wear has changed in all three dry-weather compounds, intermediates and wet tires and in all conditions. Lept cars should now be more responsive, reducing annoying blue flag periods – similar to Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton at Zandvoort this season.

Changes have also been made to car development features, safety car behavior and team member information. Several game crashing issues are said to have been fixed and even more bugs have been fixed in cutscenes.

For those on PC, on-screen keyboard support has also been added for the Steam Deck and Steam Big Picture mode.

The full changelog is below as the team is working on F1 Manager 2023 at the same time.
