Marvel Games has teamed up with Electronic Arts to introduce us to an all-new Iron Man single-player, third-person, action-adventure video game.
The game is currently in development at Motive Studio in Montreal. The same team is responsible for a Marvel experience that brought us titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Big names like Ian Frazier (Mass Effect: Andromeda), Olivier Proulx (Deus Ex: Mankind Divided), Maëlenn Lumineau (Immortals: Fenyx Rising) and JF Poirier (Star Wars: Squadrons) are all part of the team.
Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game will feature an original story that leverages Iron Man’s rich history, channels the complexity, charisma and creative genius of Tony Stark, and allows players to feel what it’s like. to really play as Iron Man.”

Although the reception of the previous Marvel episode, the Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics, was filled with annoyances and criticism from the gaming community, they completely redeemed themselves with the massive success of Insomniac’s Spider Man. This was accompanied by the entry of the underdog, Square Enix’s Guardians of the Universe.
With the tides starting to favor Marvel Games, EA has confirmed that they plan to release a range of different games in the near future. The first of the series is their partnership with Electronic Arts to bring us the highly anticipated action-adventure game.
“We are excited to partner with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original take on one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters. Their experience of both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay – combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon – will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”

The Potential of the Iron Man Game
Unlike other superheroes, Tony Stark’s seemingly endless creative genius has the potential to tap into new features for a Marvel Games episode. This and EA’s gaming history are a perfect combination to give us a fresh take on the story of superhero games, especially if they stick to the rich history of the man of many costumes in both the comics and the movies.
With multiple colors for a range of scenarios, terrain and features, Tony Stark can be a subject for game developers to give the players a glimpse into a redefined possibility of the usual action-adventure genre. With the advancement of game technology, they could also add features such as creating and customizing new armor, or a wide variety of skins.
Imagine JARVIS and his epic voiceover giving us the game’s tutorial sequence and helping us navigate our adventure.
With the involvement of Olivier Proulx, who was the executive producer of Square Enix’s surprising success Guardians of the Universe, we can expect an immersive gameplay experience of a similar nature to the action-adventure genre. The game is currently in pre-production phase.

The Future of Marvel Games
It was during the D23 Expo that the Marvel Games revealed what they have in store for their gamer fans. Aside from the recently confirmed Tony Stark game they have with Electronic Arts, Marvel Games has also teamed up with Disney to bring us a “rumored” Captain America and Black Panther game.
The game takes place in the WW2 era. Tracking history from the perspective of comic books. This was the time when Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather, was praised for his unwavering bravery in defending Wakanda against the impending Hydra invasion. The duo is joined by two other playable characters, a soldier named Gabriel Jones and a spy from Wakanda named Nanali.
Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube channel posted a video of the D23 Expo confirming the rumor.
