Collabs have become a big problem in mobile gaming, haven’t they? Once a game is announced, one of the first things people talk about is who they would like to see in a collaborative event. Cookie Run is unique because while it’s a popular IP, they’ve been careful about who they partner with for events.
So far, Kingdom has only had two events that were with other properties. Speculation about who would be next to team up with Devsisters was sure to happen, so this is a curated list of ideas that might fit the world of Earthbread and its fried burgers.
10 Monster High
Monster High, a popular franchise that grew from simple, spooky puppets to an entire entertainment phenomenon, would go perfectly with creepy-chic designs like Vampire Cookie, Black Licorice Cookie and Poison Mushroom Cookie.
You need the four main characters: Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura and Lagoona Blue. Aside from the four, there’s a surprisingly long list of characters that could make an appearance. Cookie Run is known for creating cute, unique storylines for its events, so you might end up with a story that exceeds expectations.
9 pokemon
Look, everything about Pokemon just fits. Nice characters? To check. A simple, yet effective combat system? Check and check. The possibilities are endless. Sure, you’ll get a ton of cute poke cookies (hopefully permanent) and some decor to decorate your kingdom with. However, there is a better idea that could come out of this.
Gigamax battles. They are giant bosses, you have to take your cookies into battle to defeat them. The technology is already there; the guild battles let you do the exact same thing, so creating shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
8 Sanrio Company
You have to admit, just looking at these cute characters it makes sense to get these two titles together, right? Hello Kitty and Mimmy have already appeared in Devsisters’ other game, Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, so getting them to appear in Kingdom shouldn’t be hard.
However, an all-encompassing battle storyline wouldn’t fit in this version, despite the fact that there are combat units in Ovenbreak. This collaboration would be a chill one: You could turn off event collecting and building and maybe spin a storyline around it. Strawberry cookie in a Hello Kitty costume? Too cute.
7 Vocaloid
If you were to turn left anywhere on the internet, chances are you’ve come across a Vocaloid in one form or another. Whether it’s fan art, a music video or a virtual show, they’ve taken over the internet. Hatsune Miku gets in all kinds of media, so why not let her come and visit the kingdom of Cookie Run?
It would be a novel idea to have a rhythm games area in the battles, with some songs from the artists, or even some remixed cookie run songs to run to. The game is tailor-made for it.
6 Genshin impact
This can be a unique crossover event for both gacha games. So far, Genshin Impact has had a few brand collaborations, but they often ended up as skins or real-life events. There’s only been one single collaboration in the game so far, and that’s with Guerrilla Games’ IP Horizon: Zero Dawn.
They could do a trade: have some characters available for battle, as they already have ultimate moves like in Genshin. Then Genshin, in turn, could have a few cookie companions to hover over the Traveler and keep them company.
5 A piece
Cookie Run already has the Tropical Soda Islands: an area where you cross soda seas where you find treasures and free villages under pirate rule. So the anime One Piece would have no problem fitting into the world of cookies.
Imagine a little Monkey D. Cookie helping Mango Cookie fight against the Durianeers, dastardly pirates who try to rob and steal from the innocent. Or maybe one of Luffy’s enemies, like Big Ma, will come and try to eat the cookies, and it’s up to you and Luffy’s crew to stop her devastating hunger pangs.
4 Final Fantasy 14
Final Fantasy 14 has already done an impressive amount of crossover events, and this shouldn’t be too much of a problem for those already in the realm. They have Monster Hunter, Yo-kai Watch, and Nier: Automata under their collab belts (to be fair, Nier is still sort of in-house for Square Enix).
Aside from the Warrior of Light, some fan favorites deserved to be baked with cookies. Can you imagine: a cute cookie G’raha Tia or Y’shtola waiting to take out the enemies? The cuteness levels would be completely off the charts.
3 Studio Ghiblic
The epitome of iconic, Studio Ghibli has delighted anime lovers of all ages with their gift of fantastic design in both the characters and the worlds themselves. All credit aside, who wouldn’t want to see Totoro as a giant cookie? Plus, you could include the fact that he only shows himself when he wants to be seen, and you’ve got a cute mystery on your hands.
On the other hand, Ponyo would also make a fun event to host. Because the cookies struggle to cope with the information about how they came to be, just as Ponyo struggled with her identity between a magical fish and her desire to be a human girl.
2 Nintendo
Probably the most sought after partnership will be one of the hardest to come by, though it has gotten easier over the years. Nintendo protects their IPs fiercely, and for good reason (looking at you, 90s Mario movie). But outside of Disney, they have some of the most recognizable characters in their roster.
Kirby is a shoo-in, of course, along with Yoshi and the rest of the Mario gang, but someone you wouldn’t expect to be crazy, like Samus Aran or someone from the Fire Emblem series. Fingers crossed for Claude Cookie.
1 Sonic and Tales… Again
Many new players missed the Sonic event in Cookie Run and would love to see it return to try and get both Sonic Cookie and Tails Cookie. Honestly, now would be a great time to add another cookie: Knuckles the Echidna.
Because the cookies got stuck in Sonic’s world the last time, Sonic, Tails, and Dr. Eggman might enter the Cookie realm as Eggman tries to team up with Dark Enchantress Cookie to spread his inventions on Earthbread. Bonus points if they use the boss battle music from the Sonic games instead of the default. Again, this is just wishful thinking.
