The next Assassin’s Creed will be called Mirage

After months of rumors, Ubisoft finally decided it couldn’t wait another week and officially confirmed the first details about the next Assassin’s Creed game. That happens when you accidentally leak some of those details in your own store. The next game in the long-running series will be called Mirage and, as expected, will be set in Baghdad. That’s all Ubisoft wants to tell us for now, but you won’t have long to wait for the full reveal. More from Mirage will be shown at the next Ubisoft Forward on September 10.

THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass

Xbox’s Activision Blizzard acquisition remains on track, and Phil Spencer had a little more to say about it this week, plus reiterated some things he’s already said multiple times. Responding to a report revealing that a UK watchdog will dive deeper into the potential merger, Spencer revealed that Activision Blizzard’s heavy hitters, such as CoD, Diablo, and Overwatch, will be coming to Game Pass. That lit a fire among CoD fans who don’t yet own Xbox, reaffirming that the series won’t be ripped off PlayStation.

Gizmo is coming to MultiVersus

Just when you got the hang of Morty, the makers of MultiVersus revealed that the next challenger is coming. As revealed at the start of season one, Gremlins’ Stripe will be added to the roster at some point. It looks like Stripe won’t be the first Gremlin to go into battle. A teaser for the next character addition premiered this week, and it echoed what was undeniably Gizmo’s paws (do Gremlins have paws?) sticking out of a box. The reveal was followed by confirmation that Stripe and Gizmo will be two different characters rather than alternate versions of the same fighter.

The latest Halo Infinite road map

For a game with a name that suggests it was made to hold players’ attention for a very long time, Halo Infinite doesn’t do a very good job of keeping people’s interest. August, the month in which Infinite’s co-op campaign was supposed to start, ended without the feature being added. Roll on September 1, when 343 unveiled Infinite’s new roadmap. The co-op campaign will now only be added on November 8, two years after the game’s launch. The Forge beta will also start that day, while Infinite’s bank co-op has been quietly scrapped. Not good.

Pokemon Reveals Grafaiai

Gizmo wasn’t the only cute little creature to come to a game soon. Pokemon kicked off the week with a first look at a brand new Pokemon that will be well introduced to trainers in Scarlet & Violet. What started with mysterious markings on trees and rocks ended with the first real look at Grafaiai. Since Grafaiai likes to paint, trainers assumed that the new Pokemon would somehow be connected to Smeargle. While that’s not out of the question, a close look at the new Pokemon painting would suggest that’s not the case.

The Last Of Us Part 1 has launched

By the time you read this, The Last Of Us Part 1 has launched. After what feels like an eternity of heated debate, those of you willing to pay $70 will finally have a chance to find out if the improved graphics, gameplay, and accessibility are worth that somewhat hefty price tag. In the final days before its arrival, Naughty Dog’s directors revealed that the key to the remake was restraint. Picking and choosing which features are available to them now would improve the best over the original and remastered versions of the game. The studio also showed seven minutes of gameplay. Worth checking out if you’re still hesitating to buy it.
