Into the break Paths of Zero is a bit like the prologue – both are official, capitalized pieces that are a lot of fun to enjoy, but neither is long enough to be considered a full-fledged chapter.
Still, there to be sidequests during the break. But with the SSS terminal for today, you will not find them as support requests. You need to do some detective work, which we are happy to help you with here. Take KeA on some fun adventures and earn Detective Points while you’re at it.
A treat for the mayor
To start ‘A Treat for the Mayor’, go to City Hall in the Administrative District. Remember how you couldn’t access one of the upper doors for most of the game? Well, the same is still true for the door on the right, but enter the door on the left for a nice scene with Mayor MacDowell.
On the way out, the receptionist, Shion, chats with Lloyd, KeA and whoever you chose as their companion. One thing led to another, and the team decides to get MacDowell’s favorite drink from the Juice stall outside City Hall. Go outside, search the perimeter of the fountain, until a scene breaks out where Lloyd realizes…the Juice Stand is nowhere to be found.
It turns out that our amazing ‘juice lady’ has set up shop in the station district, keep it up. She decides to give you the mayor’s shake for free. Back to town hall then, and return to Mayor MacDowell’s room finish things up.
Geofront A2 Monster Extermination
While you’re still out and about with KeA, take a trip to the CPD in the Administrative District. The receptionist needs help with a monster in the Geofront. Don’t panic if the search doesn’t seem to start normally for you. It has been logged; the monster will be waiting for you from now on.
From the main entrance to Geofront Sector A, the route you took from the Station District at the start of the game, go through the room with the Orbment Rest Point, take the east exit (closest to the Rest Point), head north , and you should get into a room with one of the hitchhike. Head for it and then take the south exit. There’s our villain.
Keep KeA alive. We’re actually not sure if the fight will end if you don’t, to be quite honest with you. We’ll test it later. What we can tell you is you’re a monster if you let her die here.
On the other hand, Lloyd is the bigger monster because he made her come…

Now on to one of the best sidequests in Trails from Zero.
During KeA’s excursion with Lloyd and one of the other party members, be sure to visit Crossbell Cathedral. After the main story here, the team decides to go to St. Ursula Medical College. After you’ve left, re-entered the city and landed on the scene with the trio of kids on their way to Sunday School, you’ll return to the cathedral.
If you don’t do this before you hit the road to St. Ursula Medical College, it’s lost forever!
With KeA as Lloyd’s personal cheerleader, he decides to heed Sister Marble’s suggestion to teach the class. This implies: ten questions. The first set of five is triggered as Lloyd tries to describe his job to the kids. The second set of five is during a Q&A segment. To get the extra Detective Points, not to mention preventing Lloyd from looking like he has no idea what he’s talking about, answer the questions as follows:
