I’m not really looking forward to it Overwatch 2Activision Blizzard’s successor and replacement to its 2016 team-based shooter.

PC gamer reported this week that the series’ lead hero designers, Geoff Goodman, who had helped shape the series from its incubation period six years ago, recently left Blizzard. As late as August, Activision employees accused the game company of union busting. In June, the company expressed its hesitation in submitting an application annual harassment reports despite years of employees speaking out against what they call an abusive workplace. None of this arouses enthusiasm.

But there are new girl characters, and I think that’s cool. Girls are cool. And people online have been asking a lot of questions about Overwatch 2 (understandable – the release is only two weeks away), so I thought I’d roam the corners of the internet to find and answer some of the most frequently asked questions. I want us to figure this out Overwatch 2 things together, and maybe even find something to look forward to (or not).

When will Overwatch 2 to come outside?

That’s easy: October 4, 2022. The game itself is free to play, but an in-game store and often vilified battle pass will effectively pay for some new characters and live service, seasonal items.

Why is no one talking about Blizzard? shut down overwatch before Overwatch 2 release?

Blizzard is not just canning overwatch before 2‘s release – it completely replaces overwatch of Overwatch 2. I think the name of the game is something like: Overwatch 2.0 or Overwatch, Again or Hey, I’m Overwatch, except there are more cool girls out there would have helped clear up some of the confusion. Blizzard didn’t ask me to attend the naming meeting, oddly enough.

The last day to play unadulterated overwatch is October 2, two days before 2 release. Then, overwatch commercial break head Jon Spector said in a statement to Eurogamer that “it’s a 27-hour downtime that we’re planning to reduce the Overwatch 2 server was up and running.” Somewhere in those 27 hours, new players can download Overwatch 2 in early preparation for launch, and existing players will be notified to update their software to Overwatch 2.

The base Overwatch 2 game is free, but Blizzard will still generously give you the option to hand over some cash. You could buy the Watchpoint Pack, a $39.99 pack, if you’re really into it.

According to his Battle.net descriptionit contains the following: Season 1 of Overwatch 2‘s premium battle pass, which gives you access to healer hero Kiriko and ‘more than 80 rewards’, 7 legendary skins, 5 epic skins, 2,000 Overwatch coins and Legendary Edition of Overwatch. The fine print indicates that only the in-game items from Legendary will transfer to Overwatch 2although.

Is Overwatch 2 to change gear to 5v5?

Yes. snow storm announced in 2021 that it would reduce the size of the PvP team from six to five. That’s probably what God has decided about our fingers and toes.

What is this unannounced? core mode:?

At the moment it is pure speculation. A a few months agoa Discord user translated supposedly shared information from an interview that has since been deleted with French streamer Potxeca, Geoff Goodman and game director Aaron Keller. The user said an “unannounced game mode” would be coming in 2023, and excited Reddit users think it’s possible Team Fortress 2-type 5CP.

More speculation, but it seems seasonal overwatch items are either not transferred to Overwatch 2or you can no longer buy them with credits.

Players were given a wolf-like “last chance” reminder to “spend your credits on seasonal collection items!” in the game. The same reminder vaguely indicates that credits themselves will be transferred to 2so, uh…

But Blizzard wrote: in a blog of September 15 that it introduced another currency, Overwatch Coins, and a “seasonal model” with nine-week update periods, which would provide the game with things like heroes, maps, modes, and skins. It seems likely that anything Blizzard is pushing you to spend those old days overwatch credits will not be available from October 4 for some reason.

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about that overwatch characters are less cute in Overwatch 2, but for the most part I really can’t tell the difference in character design. At least, not in a way that feels important or meaningful. My apologies. But take comfort in the thought that your journal will always have bright blank pages for you to master Widowmaker’s cheekbones, if that’s what it comes down to.

Why is overwatch loved by critics but hated by gamers?

Is that true? For the most part, I think both critics and non-critics are approaching Overwatch 2 with healthy trepidation and mild intrigue, and I think many non-critics enjoy playing the original overwatch. In the end, we’re all just people with opinions, which don’t happen to be facts, as I learned in first grade. Nothing to worry about there.

Should Overwatch 2 to be considered for Game of the Year?

Could be. As a critic I like Overwatch 2, but as a gamer I hate it. So I’m not sure.

Boom the fat pockets of Blizzard executives.

Problems with the server.
