About Temtem, you are expected to capture a dozen colorful creatures and battle it out with them. Not only do you have to catch and tame different tamems, but you also have to train them and put together a strong team if you want to get past one of the Dojos.
Temtem may feel familiar given the many similarities it shares with Pokémon, but of course some things work a little differently than you might be used to. Evolution is one of those things; if anything, it’s easier. However, since Temtem is only just leaving Early Access, there are still some evolutions to discover!
All in all, it’s an exciting prospect to catch temtems and watch them evolve, which is exactly why we’ve put together the following guide to help you develop your new friends. In this guide we have explained: all known evolutions in Temtemand how to develop all your beloved ‘tems’.
How does evolution work in Temtem?
Evolution works the same way as Pokémon, but if this is your first venture into taming critters and training them for battle, evolution requires different conditions.
For many ‘tems’ they will evolve once they reach a certain level. This means you just have to keep them in your team of ‘tems and use them in battle so they can level up! This is simple and often goes without saying; you can also cancel the evolution process if it happens if you don’t want your tamte to evolve yet.
Other ‘tems need different conditions to evolve. For example, Azuroc can only evolve while being traded, while which evolution of Towly you get depends entirely on gender, and so on.
Fortunately, all of the evolution requirements in Temtem are relatively easy to fulfill with time and ‘temporary training’. If you’re particularly excited to evolve one of your companions, you can instantly evolve them using Minimonoliths, but these aren’t easy to find.
How can I evolve my Temtem immediately?
In Temtem, an item called mini monolith can be used to instantly evolve a tame at any time. One can be found in The Highbelow and another in the Gardens of Aztlan. For all further mini monoliths, you can earn them as a reward with the following tasks:
- Nuru Lodge Koish of the week – A task where you have to catch a Koish with specific characteristics every week.
- Highbelow Sanctum Lair 1-3provided you got a Volgon’s egg that same week – Only available after you accept the quest ‘Through a Gate, Darkly’.
- postal services – These are daily quests that can be picked up from Uhuru or Kisiwa post office.
- Wishing Wells – Throw WishYouWell coins into these wells to get rewards.

When you first step into the world of Temtem, you will meet Professor Konstantine, who will suggest you three starting terms from which to choose.
