Video Game Authority, a subsidiary of Collectible Grading Authority, is known for their work grading video games and consoles, from Atari to Xbox. Now they’re teaming up with physical game publisher Limited Run Games to do what they do best: for a good cause!

The VGA’s latest project is an assorted copy of Limited Run’s 2022 exclusive at Comic-Con International in San Diego, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection for the Nintendo Switch, in retro box packaging. The game is rated 90 and is now up for auction on eBay, with 100% of the proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“It’s great to be able to partner with Limited Run for such a good cause,” said CGA President Chad Thompson. “Graded games and consoles are a relatively new market, but the collector base is very enthusiastic, and the outpouring of support for this auction has been incredible.”

The eBay auction closes Sunday, October 2 at 11:06 a.m. EST. Find it at:

Collectible Grading Authority (CGA) is the parent company of the well-known and established grading company Action Figure Authority (AFA), as well as the Video Game Authority (VGA), Collectible Doll Authority (CDA) and Die-Cast Authority (DCA). CGA was founded in the late 2000s to provide toy collectors around the world with added peace of mind when making purchases unseen. Before CGA, toy collectors, dealers and investors did not have a universal standard for assessing the condition of an item. CGA has spent years diligently developing the standard they use to accurately represent the condition of original and unmodified collectibles, creating a safer collecting environment and ensuring that everyone’s investments are protected for years to come. They have reviewed over 400,000 items from action figures, first-shots and prototypes, puppets, cast, video games, consoles to most recently VHS tapes. All of the acrylic cases for assorted items for sale on their site are manufactured in-house. For more information, visit: https://cgagrading.com/

Daniel Pickett

AFi founder and editor-in-chief Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been involved with toys all his life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line in the 1970s. He’s been surrounded by collectibles ever since. In 1999, he was confused by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Unable to find the information, he decided to go after it himself, thinking that other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column about the toy industry and action figures for a toy news site and in a year he tripled the daily traffic on the sites with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with all the major toy manufacturers and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a global expertise that has embraced the industry. In 2004, he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and the mass media. Over the years, Daniel and AFi have been in demand as experts in the field. Daniel was featured regularly on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the main contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and has been linked to our front page twice from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog . Daniel’s content has also been featured on Bloomberg News, MSNBC.com, Time.com, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, CNN.com, AssociatedPress.com Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo. com, Ain’t It Cool News, the official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet, and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He advised on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds cocky and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short is Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
