As we enter the fourth quarter of 2022, there are still plenty of exciting video games to look forward to.
When it comes to releasing video games, there are different genres that appeal to all types of gamers.
Some games like Hogwarts Legacy were scheduled for release during this period. However, it has been postponed to February 10, 2023.
Still, plenty of games are on the way.
There may be a lot of games coming out, but some are expected more than others.
We look at seven video games to be released in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Overwatch 2

Release Date – October 4
The sequel to Blizzard’s popular team-based shooter has been years in the making.
But it’s just around the corner now and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Not only will it be free to play, but cross-progression is also a thing, meaning you can pick up and play without losing progress across all available platforms.
Blizzard teased what to expect: “Season one will feature Sojourn, Junker Queen, and an unannounced support hero, as well as the new 5v5 PvP experience, reworked heroes, new maps and modes, and more.
“We are also releasing a revamped competitive experience created to give players more tools to improve gameplay and feel a sense of progression in competitive play.
“Players will have more influence on individual matches with the shift to 5v5, and there will be additional systems in place to help you differentiate your contributions per match.”
Gotham Knights

Release Date – October 21
Gotham Knights is one of the few AAA video games not to be delayed until 2023. In fact, the release date has been pushed back a few days.
Set in Gotham City and after Batman’s death, gamers will play as the Dark Knight’s former protégés, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin.
But they must face the Court of Owls, a mysterious secret society that has emerged from the shadows.
Classic villains such as Mr Freeze will also be present in the game.
Gotham Knights will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The decision was made “to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience”.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Release Date – October 28
A reboot of the iconic Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, this modern version includes new features, such as a revamped engine and AI improvements.
It’s a sequel to 2019 Modern Warfare and while it’s expected to be set in modern times, it remains to be seen exactly who you’ll be fighting against.
The developers pointed to the story and said:
“A global team of iconic veterans and new legends from previously unmentioned clandestine missions, these Operators will usher in a new era of Duty when Modern Warfare II will be published on October 28, 2022.”
Gamers can regroup with favorite characters such as Captain John Price and John ‘Soap’ MacTavish.
Given the popularity of the franchise, it’s no surprise that the game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
skull bones

Release Date – November 8
More than five years after its first unveiling, skull bones is almost here.
In this open world pirate game, gamers take charge of a customizable pirate captain.
Players can choose to sail the Indian Ocean on their own and embark on a single-player campaign, or gather up to five other players to team up in player-vs-player gameplay in Disputed Waters.
In addition to character customization, there is also ship customization, a progression system, and crafting.
Ubisoft also talked about the different ship types in the game and how to make a name for yourself in the pirate world.
It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Stadia.
God of War Ragnarok

Release Date – November 9
Since the announcement, God of War Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated video games of 2022.
In the visually stunning action game, due out in November, Kratos continues his journey through Norse mythology with his teenage son Atreus.
Kratos must help his son discover the truth about his parentage, but it won’t be without challenges.
After angering the Norse gods in their previous adventure, you can take on the likes of Thor.
Players will also find Týr, the Norse God of War many believed to have died long ago.
The game will be released on PS5 and PS4 and seems to bring the Norwegian era of the series close.
The devil in me

Release Date – November 18
Supermassive Games is known for its choice-based horror games and its upcoming release is The devil in mepart of The Dark Pictures Anthology.
The devil in me will be the finale of the anthology’s first season.
The story sees a group of documentary filmmakers receive a mysterious phone call and invite them to a modern-day replica of serial killer HH Holmes’ “Murder Castle.”
It’s an opportunity too good to turn down and could be exactly what they’re looking for to gain much-needed public interest.
The hotel is the perfect setting for their new episode, but things aren’t quite as they seem.
The crew discovers they are being watched and even manipulated, and suddenly there is much more at stake than just their ratings.
As with previous games, players will need to think carefully about their choices as they can prove fatal to the characters.

High in life

Release Date – December 13
Those who have played Trover saves the universe can expect this upcoming title to be just as crazy.
High in life belongs to Justin Roiland, who is known for his work on the TV series Rick and Morty.
The story is set in the future where humanity has been taken by an alien cartel to be used as drugs for aliens.
As a bounty hunter, the player has to navigate the galaxy to save the humans using weapons called Gatlians, alien guns to take out the threats.
Speaking of the game, Justin Roiland said:
“I wanted to make games that I wanted to play, and that was the spark that lit Squanch Games’ fire.”
“Then we shipped Trover, we delivered Accounting+, and now we’re on this absolute dream game that we’ve been building towards all along.”
The end of 2022 promises to be a big one when it comes to new video games.
A mix of genres and visual aesthetics make these the most anticipated video games of Q4 2022.
And it will transition into 2023, which looks set to be a huge year for gaming.
