Nintendo has a new number one in the house, but the sales of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are almost identical to the previous games.
Considering how well it has been rated, there was a sense that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a breakthrough moment for the franchise, but physical sales in the UK are barely more than in any of the earlier games.
Sales of all previous games are more or less the same and in fact Xenoblade Chronicles 3 made less than money than its direct predecessor at launch, as the collector’s edition has been delayed in the UK. This doesn’t take digital sales into account, but they usually represent a smaller percentage of units sold when it comes to Nintendo titles.
The game wasn’t the only new entry last week, though, with the boxed version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge at number eight and Digimon Survive at number 10.
