For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six In the game, players will face sieges, a new style of attack where enemies have the means to transform their environment into modern strongholds, while Rainbow Six teams lead the charge to breach the enemy’s position. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege gives players unprecedented control over their ability to fortify their position – by fortifying walls and floors, using barbed wire, deployable shields and mines and more – or breaking through the enemies with observation drones, shot attacks, rappelling and more. The fast pace, lethality and uniqueness of each siege sets a new bar for intense firefights, strategic gameplay and competitive gaming.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege also includes a technological breakthrough that redefines the way players interact with a gaming environment. Using Ubisoft Montreal’s proprietary Realblast engine, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege includes procedural destruction that is realistic and unscripted, meaning the environment reacts authentically, distinctively and dynamically, based on variables such as the caliber of bullets or the amount of explosives used. This advancement allows players to harness destruction in meaningful ways. Walls can be shattered, opening new lines of fire. Ceilings and floors can be breached to create new access points. This ability to adjust the level design in real time allows players to create new game options directly within the game level.
Ubisoft has announced that the limited-time event MUTE Protocol: Flesh and Metal will be available tomorrow in Rainbow Six Siege.
This reloaded MUTE Protocol event will run for three weeks until August 23 and will include new cosmetics and a new gameplay mode: Arms Race.
In this new mode, MUTE Tower has been taken over by the Brain. When players take out an opponent, they upgrade to a new weapon tier. Eliminated players quickly respawn, go back one weapon level, and return to the battlefield. The main goal is to reach the highest weapon level: The Golden Hammer. With this Golden Hammer, players win a round by destroying the Brain shields on the map, as it is the only weapon that can properly close the shields and win a round. In addition, there are power-ups scattered around the map and all players are equipped with a Power Dash that can shoot through walls.
The event brings with it the MUTE Protocol collection, featuring the brand new Organics skins. The collection includes uniforms, headgear, weapon skins, and operator card portraits. In addition, the event also introduces the Merging Process Bundle, which includes a signature weapon skin, universal attachment skin, charm, and Operator Card background. Bundles from the first MUTE Protocol event in 2020 are also available for players to purchase before it leaves the store again. In addition, players who have purchased one or more bundles of the 2020 MUTE Protocol event will receive a free corresponding Operator Card for each bundle.
Flesh and Metal Packs can be obtained by completing the Special Event Challenges or by purchasing them for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Glory each. The individual bundles can also be purchased directly for 1680 R6 credits each.
Most important features:
- Counter-terrorists are trained to handle extreme situations with surgical precision, such as rescuing hostages. As specialists in the field of “short range”, their training is focused on indoor environments. They operate in tight formations and are experts in close quarter combat, demolition and coordinated strikes.
- For the first time in Rainbow Six, players will participate in Sieges, a brand new style of attack. Enemies now have the means to transform their environment into strongholds: they can create traps, fortifications, and defense systems to stop Rainbow teams from breaking through. To take on this challenge, players have a level of freedom unmatched by previous Rainbow Six games. By combining tactical maps, observation drones and a new recall system, Rainbow teams have more options than ever to plan, attack and disperse these situations.
- Destruction is at the heart of the siege gameplay. Using Ubisoft Montreal’s proprietary Realblast engine, players now have the unprecedented ability to destroy environments. Walls can be shattered, new fire lines can be opened, and ceilings and floors can be breached, creating new entry points. Everything in the environment reacts realistically, dynamically and uniquely based on the size and caliber of the bullets you use or the amount of explosives you have set up. In Rainbow Six Siege, destruction makes sense and mastering it is often the key to victory.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
