With the A piece manga with a month-long hiatus, fans can finally take some time to look back at the events that took place in the Wano Country arc. It is one of the longest arches in A piece to date, and it had many notable events. There are multiple battles in the arc and for this reason it was difficult to remember how each battle went. Fortunately for the fans, the biggest fights were saved until the end.

Luffy, Law and Kid fought the two Yonko, so the alliance needed someone else to take care of the All-Stars. Jack was knocked out by Inuarashi, leaving King and Queen to be cared for. After Marco brought them both to a standstill for a long time, he accepted that it was time for the new generation to perform. So he let Sanji and Zoro take the middle place. Zoro fought King while Sanji faced Queen.

The Fighting Prior

Before taking on the two All-Stars, Sanji and Zoro faced other opponents. In Zoro’s case, he went to the roof, where he fought alongside Luffy, Law, Kid, and Killer. The members of the Worst Generation faced the mammoth task of taking down two of the Yonko. In the fight Zoro had a bit of a hard time. He managed to unleash one sword blow which was dodged by the Yonko and then with Emma’s help Zoro managed to damage Kaido a bit, but the last one was almost unfazed. On the other hand, Zoro couldn’t move after Big Mom and Kaido’s combined attack. As the fight progressed, Kaido took him out and the swordsman suffered several wounds.

Sanji didn’t go to the roof when he got separated from Luffy and went to rescue a woman, and he ended up in a trap set by Black Maria. Sanji could have easily defeated Black Maria and her subordinates, but because of his principles of never hurting women, Sanji ended up getting hurt. Finally, Sanji called Nico Robin for help and she freed him, allowing Sanji to escape and help elsewhere. Sanji walked to Momonosuk’s location, where he bumped into Law and Zoro. Law asked Sanji to cover Zoro with bandages, and then he left. Sanji had to carry Zoro around and protect him. During this time, Sanji saved Chopper from Queen as well. Miyagi gave Zoro the super recovery drug, which allowed the latter to recover and fight King.

Vs The All Stars

Zoro’s last opponent was King, who was a Lunar, an extinct species that lived on the Red Line. With his power, King was able to throw Zoro outside the Skull Dome. King attempted to throw Zoro off the island, but the Straw Hat managed to repel the attacks. The battle between the two was intense and the All-Star largely dominated it. As the two continued to fight, Zoro grew increasingly frustrated as none of his attacks seemed to have any effect on King, but after observing King’s attacks for a while, Zoro understood how his opponent was able to fight despite taking so many hits. . Again, Zoro had to rely on Enma’s strength to bring out his Haki, and this allowed him to use an extremely strong attack that knocked King out.

Sanji’s fight against Queen was also very interesting. Not only did Sanji have to fight one of the top fighters in the Beasts Pirates, but he also had to overcome the trauma of his past. Queen had previously worked with Judge at MADS, so he knew all about Judge’s inventions. Queen’s intelligence allowed him to modify his body and replicate the abilities of Sanji’s siblings. Queen used all the tricks he had in store to try to damage Sanji, but because the latter’s genetic modifications eventually kicked in, the All-Star was unable to do any serious damage. In the end, Sanji defeated Queen without any major problems and after his victory, Sanji was still able to walk around helping the others. In comparison, Zoro was on the verge of death after his duel with King and had to be rescued by Franky.

Conclusion

The Wano Country arc was the first big test for Sanji and Zoro. Because Luffy was so close to the Pirate King, the other two had to improve as well. Although they both won their respective fights, overall Sanji was more impressive in his fight against Queen. It’s also worth remembering that Sanji held off both king and queen before Zoro recovered. While Zoro is still stronger than Sanji, the gap between their strengths isn’t as big as many fans think.

Oda has even emphasized the small gap between the two several times. Another indicator of the small gap between Sanji and Zoro is their opponents’ bounties. King, who was defeated by Zoro, has a bounty of 1,390,000,000 beris, while Queen’s bounty is 1,320,000,000 beris. Sanji’s numerous achievements in Wano prove that Zoro and he are extremely close in terms of strength.
