As confirmed in the tweet below by showrunner, Michael Jonathan Smith, the filming of the first season of Twisted Metal has officially concluded:

In addition to confirming the footage, the tweet may also give us a first look at the series’ logo, which is very similar to those used by the last few Twisted Metal video games.

Who makes the TV show Twisted Metal?

The show comes from Michael Jonathan Smith (Chozen, I Own You, Cobra Kai) who serves as showrunner/lead writer on the series and one of the executive producers.

He is joined by fellow writers, Rhett Rheese (Zombieland, Deadpool, 6 Underground) and Paul Wernick (Zombieland, Deadpool, 6 Underground), who have pitched the story from which the show works and who will also serve as executive producers.

In addition, Anthony Mackie and Will Arnett will also serve as executive producers on the show, along with show director Kitao Sakurai, Electric Avenue’s Marc Forman, Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire, Artists First’s Peter Principato, PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, and head of PlayStation Studios, Herman Hulst.

Anthony Mackie plays John Doe, the show’s motorcycle-mouthed ‘outsider’

Stephanie Beatriz plays Quiet, the “trigger-happy car thief,” who accompanies Mackie’s John Doe.

Will Arnett plays the voice of Sweet Tooth, the psychotic clown and longtime face of the Twisted Metal video game series.

Joe Seanoa (better known for his wrestling character, Samoa Joe) plays Sweet Tooth physically on screen.

Thomas Haden Church plays Agent Stone, described as “a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrol who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest judgments.”

When does the show come out?

Although no official release date has been confirmed yet. In light of the news that the shooting for the first season of the show has been completed on 27/08/2022. There is a good chance that the show will be released between April 2023 and August 2023, as the post-production (adding visual CG effects, editing, color correction, ADR, and music scoring) in the show is ready for release.

Where can I watch the show?

At this point, the show is intended to be a Peacock exclusive. So to watch the show you either need to have a Peacock subscription, or subscribe to a streaming service that includes Peacock as part of the package, such as NOW TV in the UK and Ireland.
