Support has always been a huge mechanism for the fire emblem spell. Just like the first Fire Emblem Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has a brand new set of supports for each character. Filling out the support log on each route is not required to beat the campaign, but they are required to collect various prizes from the Rewards Master.
The support system reflects that of Fire emblem:Three houses. This means that there are limits to some characters’ support, and some support ranks are not unlocked until part 2 of each route in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. These are indicated by a yellow lock in the Supports menu. So it’s important for players to let their units build a strong bond with each other before reaching Chapter 10. Fortunately, there are more ways to increase the support between characters than in Three houses.
Any character can get a C support together, but not everyone has a support scene. If there are three dots on a support letter, it means they have a unique interaction.
8 Giving gifts
While shopping at the Item Shopkeeper in the camp, players can purchase gifts. These are consumables that can be given to other units. Each gift has its own description indicating who can appreciate it. For example, the floral decoration is appreciated by someone who likes flowers, so characters like Dedue and Marianne will be happy to receive them more than those who don’t like flowers. Characters who receive a nice gift give Shez two fulcrums, while non-nice and neutral gifts give only one fulcrum.
As long as players remember to upgrade the Facility, more gifts will become available from the Item Shopkeeper. Shez can purchase up to five of each gift in the store. They will be replenished at the beginning of each chapter.
7 Share a meal
Once the Kitchen Master Facility is unlocked, Shez can cook a meal for two other units. This increases the support points between all three characters. Cooking is ranked on a 3-point system: NICE, GREAT and PERFECT. Fortunately, units will receive the effects of a meal, no matter how good Shez’s cooking turns out to be.
-
When Shez cooks a meal that scores NICE, characters get a small boost in Support Points.
-
If they receive GREAT, they receive a modest amount of support points.
-
A PERFECT meal will significantly increase the support points.
Shez can increase the chances of preparing a successful meal by upgrading the Kitchen Master Facility. Characters also have favorite foods, so keep this in mind when selecting. If you choose to cook, it costs one activity point.
6 Complete chores
Like the Kitchen Master, the Chore Master raises the props between three characters instead of two. There are some tasks that characters are better at than others, which affects their level of success. When using the Chore Master to boost support, avoid selecting tasks with a red arrow next to a character’s profile. This reduces the chance of achieving a Perfect or Great Rank. Since this is an activity, doing chores costs an activity point.
Characters cannot finish a chore after working. To “refresh” this, complete a battle/quest and then return to camp. They must be available to work afterwards.
5 training together
Players gain activity and training points once they unlock the camp in Chapter 4. These increase based on the camp’s overall rank. At S Rank, players have a total of 8 activity and training points per chapter. Unlike the Chore Master and the Kitchen Master, the Training Instructor uses Training Points.
When using the Training Instructor, players start with 4 different training slots. By expanding the facility, the number of training slots can be doubled. Only two units can train together (after all), the growth of their Supports is ranked on the Chore/Kitchen Master’s Nice-Great-Perfect system. Units can also be swapped, allowing players to increase support for multiple characters at once. In addition, unlike Activity Point facilities, units can train over and over until all Training Points are used up.
4 Go on an expedition
Expeditions are the last of the three activities around the camp. When going on an expedition, you need an activity point, but sometimes players are notified of a character who wants to go on an expedition. If you choose to spend time with them, you will double the Support Points received, so take advantage of them whenever you want. More areas can be unlocked with the Facility Master.
During an expedition, players must select an area to visit with their chosen character. Then they get the chance to talk or ask a question. Selecting the right answers results in a perfect conversation. This gives players the option to give a gift. Finally, Expeditions will add a few points to the Charm of both Shez and the Expedition character, which is a stat that affects battalion effectiveness.
3 Equip Skills
If a character has the Kinship Ability, it is easier for him to receive Support Points in battle. You learn this by achieving Position 1 of the priest class, which can be unlocked with a Intermediate seal after master the Monk class. Unfortunately, only the following units can learn Kinship:
-
Black Eagles:
Edelgard, Hubert, Ferdinand, Linhardt -
Blue Lions:
Dimitri, Felix, Sylvain, Annette, Ingrid -
Golden deer:
Marianne, Lysithea
2 Exploring the War Map
Those who take the time to free all sections of the war map per chapter may be rewarded. Some areas have a green/white star icon below their rewards section, such as the lake icon. By inspecting this area in a cleared area, players have the option to increase the support level of two units.
By selecting one unit, they can see which characters they are compatible with and how far along they are in their current rank. Once the area has been explored, players will no longer be able to visit it, so choose wisely. Also keep in mind that the more areas on the war map are cleared, the less Fame players will receive after completing the main mission of the chapter.
1 Assign as adjutant
Equivalent to Three houses‘ Assistant mechanic and Fire Emblem Warriors (2017) pair-up, the option Adjutants in Three Hope will remove that unit from the map and “assign” them to another unit. This allows the linked units to perform a duo-Warrior Special, which also increases their support points. There are some unique Abilities (like Safeguard) that will heal or give the idle unit experience.
To assign an adjutant in battle, pause (+) and hover your cursor over the unit. Players must then select them with A and then drag the arrow to another unit. Click ZR, and a window will pop up with multiple options (heal, assign as adjutant, defend, etc.). Select Assign as adjutant. To cancel/change the active unit, hover the mouse pointer over the duo, select ZR again, and then Revoke adjutant’s assignment or Change adjutant.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is now available on Nintendo Switch.
