Chinese phones are hasty phones. Chinese folding ones are, plus often paper launches. The Razr is only shown in video and renders. It’s easy to sell things that aren’t tangible.

Hardware, absolutely.
But I think the Flip will shine with its software and more frequent updates.
Flip 3 captures 99.9% of the Flip 4 experience, but the new one has a longer battery life. That’s the essence of the Flip 4. It’s the iPhone 13 to the iPhone 12. The Flip 3S. uninspired. More of the same.
People in the United States who trade in their Flip 3 to get a 90% discount on a Flip 4 with dual storage will essentially experience the same as what they got from their 3. Another year with that useless 1.9-inch cover display that still feels useless with the SamSprung widget. I can understand that mr. Mobile and Tech Odyssey prefer the Razr 2022.
I can keep my Flip 3 well. I don’t want to redo everything like setting up my home screen and reorganizing all my media files on a device that is basically the same. Some people are satisfied with the predecessors. With a Flip 3, I remember being amazed at what it can mimic well. With Flip 4 it is now expected. No surprise. Not fresh anymore. Been there, done that.
This is similar to Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant or even LeBron James. I grew up with MJ. He came first. Most of my good memories come from him. God rest his soul, but Kobe was just more of the same. LeBron has never really been the GOAT, no matter how much his fanboys and media insist. I’ve already seen someone bigger than Kobe and LeBron.

Tekken 3 > Tekken 4-7
Metal Gear Solid 3 > Metal Gear Solid 4 & 5

Android 9 > Android 10, 11 and 12
Flip 3 > Flip 4?
Razr 5G > Razr 2022?

– Asus had a periscope 3 years before Huawei.
– Nokia had a much bigger camera
– Samsung Gran Prime had night mode to simulate longer exposure (takes a few seconds to pass)
