Since its launch in 2020, the PlayStation 5 has been ridiculously hard to get your hands on. Supply chain problems due to the coronavirus pandemic have nearly brought production of Sony’s latest games console to a standstill.
Fortunately, the stock situation has improved a lot in recent months, with PS5 bundles available in at least one store since the end of April. Game and the BT Shop, plus several independent retailers such as The Game Collection and Scan, continue to lead the way.
This avalanche of console additions continued through July, and so far it looks like the good news will continue into August and September. But while restocks are more common, buying a console on its own is still a challenge, with retailers preferring to restock bundles over the standalone console – those sell out in the blink of an eye. We only started seeing digital console bundles in stores last month, but even those have since dried up.

Best pre-order deals for ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the next long term upcoming episode Duty franchise, and a sequel to 2019 modern warfare, which itself was a soft reboot for the series, and now new details about the upcoming open beta have been announced recently.
The open beta will be available to play for PlayStation pre-order buyers starting September 16, 2022 at 6:00 PM BST. Thereafter, it will be open to all PlayStation players, regardless of pre-order status, from Sunday, September 18 at 6:00 PM BST until September 20.
After that, the second open beta weekend will be available on all console platforms and PC, and is slated to run from Thursday, September 22 at 6:00 PM BST to Monday, September 26. And yes, crossplay will be active so you can play with friends on different platforms.

Standalone PS5 consoles available from PS Direct
Both standalone and digital editions of the PS5 are available now from PS Direct.
There is currently a queue and anyone wanting to pick up a console will need a PSN account to purchase a bundle. Wait times may vary, but make sure to stay in the queue until you hear the bell to secure your new console.

PS5 digital edition available from BT
Looking for a digital edition console? The BT Shop is currently the only store to stock the digital console, but it is only available as part of a bundle and you must be a BT Broadband customer to purchase it.
The retailer sells the digital edition console with a copy of Horizon Forbidden West and an extra controller for £459.99 – that’s just £10 more than the price of a standalone PS5 console.
If you are not a BT Broadband customer and do not have an access code, you can ask a friend to lend you their code. Codes aren’t tied to people’s account information, so you won’t be charged.

This is the cheapest PS5 bundle you can buy today
If you want to get the most out of your money, the best bundle you can buy right now is Game, which includes a copy of Horizon Forbidden West as well as an extra controller case thrown in for good measure.
So what makes this one such a good deal? According to the website, it’s currently listed as £489.98, a full £10 cheaper than the suggested retail price of £449.99 for the Forbidden West bundle yourself. That means not only do you save a significant amount on the game, but you actually get a free carrying case (worth £14.99).
