LAS VEGAS, Nev.-The Las Vegas Raiders will end a week of joint practice with the New England Patriots this week by playing their final preseason game of the 2022 campaign.
New Silver and Black coach Josh McDaniels takes on his mentor, and the man considered by many to be the greatest coach in National Football League history.
Remember the rule of five. If the Las Vegas Raiders win that important stat battle, the game is over. For those who don’t remember, it has to do with pockets and covers. If the Raiders have three pockets and give up two, that means they are plus one. Then if they get four turnovers and give up only one, that means they’re plus three. That would give them a plus-four for the day. They want to get a plus-five ratio every game. Teams that meet the five scenario rule win an average of 91 percent of their NFL games.

Raiders coach Josh McDaniels holds a 13-3 lead over his former team, the New England Patriots, during halftime of the final preseason games in Las Vegas.
While the Raiders have been very successful on offense so far, it is their defense that has set the standard. Rookie linebacker Luke Masterston picked up where he left off last week with a stellar first quarter performance after setting the tone with a loss tackle to the Patriots.
He would also make a crucial interception that led to a scoring drive that resulted in Las Vegas’ first touchdown of the game.
If the Raiders can outperform in the red zone in the second half, this lead could potentially spiral out of control, as long as the defense continues to dominate as they have so far.

SCORING UPDATE #5: Raiders stop patriots in the red zone, hold them against a field goal and Nick Folk executes it from 22 yards. Raiders lead 13-6.
END OF THE THIRD QUARTER: Raiders lead 13-6. Las Vegas starts the final quarter with the ball on its own 47-meter line.
START OF THE FOURTH QUARTER:
SCORING UPDATE #6: Raiders again had to settle for the field goal. Carlson makes the 33-yarder to reduce Las Vegas’ lead to 10.
PENALTY: 10-yard penalty on the Patriots Chasen Hines.
INTERCEPTIONS: Raiders’ Isaiah Zuber intercepts Patriots QB Billy Zappe’s pass and returns it for 25 yard return.
SCORING UPDATE #7: Brittain Brown with the three-yard TD from the field. Daniel Carlson’s extra point is good. Las Vegas leads 23-6.
TWO MINUTES WARNING: Raiders lead, 23-6. New England will have the ball at its own 49-yard line.
FINAL: Raiders win 23-6 for their first unbeaten preseason in franchise history. Patriots drop to 1-2.
