In addition to bringing the long-running storyline that started with A reborn realm to his conclusion, Endwalker marks a new beginning for the MMO and sets the stage for new adventures for old fans and new players to enjoy together. The new expansion will bring a plethora of new features, including multiple new jobs, an increased level cap, massive new areas, battle system updates, a variety of new challenges to overcome, as well as crafter and collector content.
The age of adventure has begun.
Square Enix kicks off with a week-long livestream hosted on “Mogchute Farm” to celebrate the upcoming launch of Island Sanctuary, a new type of casual solo content coming in Patch 6.2 as the next major update to the critically acclaimed MMORPG LAST FANTASY® XIV Online release on Tuesday 23 August.
Starting today through Friday, August 19 at 1:00 PM BST, the livestream event allows viewers to experience farm life from the comfort of their own homes as they look forward to the release of Island Sanctuary in Patch 6.2: buried memory. Island Sanctuary allows players to build and customize their own personal farm in-game on an island paradise with abundant wildlife, collecting materials, building facilities, caring for creatures and more, all without having to tinker or gain experience beforehand.

The live stream will feature several barnyard favorites over several days, including pigs, goats and chickens, with several other surprises as the week goes on. Viewers can follow their daily routines of feeding, play and festivities and are invited to vote on what the animals are fed during the stream. The feeds take place every day at the times below, with other activities in between:
- 09:15 – 09:30 BST
- 4:00pm – 4:15pm BST
Based in London, UK, “Mogchute Farm” takes place at Mudchute Farm, a registered charity with environmental concern at the heart of their mission. Established in 1977, Mudchute Farm is set in 32 acres of green space, which is open to the public and offers views across London.

Below is an overview of the content players can look forward to in Patch 6.2:
- New Main Scenario Missions – The epic story continues in this final chapter.
- New side story missions – Experience the continuation of Tataru’s Grand Endeavour.
- New dungeon – New challenges await in the Fell Court of Troia.
- New trial – Team up with other players in a new Normal and Extreme difficulty trial.
- New 8 Player Raid – Pandæmonium: Abyssos will be available in Normal and Savage difficulty settings to challenge the most experienced players. The Savage difficulty raid is slated for release a week after Patch 6.2 launches.
- New Unreal Trial – Fight Sephirot in Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal).
- PvP updates – PvP Series 2 and Crystalline Conflict Season 3 begin with the release of Patch 6.2. Hidden Gorge also resumes, along with adjustments to PvP actions and the Crystalline Conflict ranking system.
- Ongoing improvements to the main scenario:
- The Duty Support feature will be expanded with dungeons for main scenarios from the 2.x series to 3.0 (Snowcloak, The Keeper of the Lake, Sohm Al, The Aery, and The Vault).
- The Steps of Faith trial will be reworked into a solo quest.
- The Thornmarch lawsuit is renewed
- Various updates – Additional content including updates to adventurer plates and portraits, capacity expansion of the glamor dresser from 400 to 800 slots and more.
Some additional details have also been shared about the contents of Patch 6.25, which will be released at a later date:
- New side story missions – Somehow further Hildibrand adventures continue in patch 6.25.
- New weapon improvement missions – Players will be able to acquire and upgrade Manderville weapons throughout the Patch 6.x series, which will begin in the Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures questline.
- New Tribal Quests: Omicron – New daily missions for Disciples of the Land.
- New Battle Content “Variant Dungeons” – Players can enjoy this new variable difficulty dungeon content, starting with the Sil’dihn Subterrane, designed for between 1-4 players, with the difficulty of enemies depending on the size of the group. Dungeons will contain branching routes, which change depending on the player’s action in the dungeon.
- New Battle Content “Another Path: Criterion Dungeons” – High difficulty content for four players, with a clear structure and enemies of the Variant Dungeons, but with a fixed route. Criterion dungeons have two different difficulty levels, each with their own unique set of rules and characteristics
In addition, a collaboration with Insert Coin apparel was revealed to create the FFXIV Endwalker Paladin jacket. Also announced as part of the Letter from the Producer Live, Final Fantasy XIV Online will return to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center for PAX Australia 2022 with a dedicated booth. Between 7 and 9 October, attendees will be invited to visit the booth where a range of activities will be available. More information will be available at a later date.
Finally, the Moonfire Faire seasonal event is in full swing until August 26 and players can get unique new rewards, including the Summer Sunset clothing. More information about this temporary event can be found here.
The extended free trial now includes all content from A Realm Reborn and the Heavensward expansion, as well as an additional playable race (Au Ra) and three additional playable courses (Dark Knight, Astrologian, and Machinist). Free trial players can enjoy hundreds of hours of award-winning gameplay and story experiences equivalent to two full Final Fantasy titles, with no time limit.
