Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Notebook introduced, original story with characters from Made in the abyss
HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (August 4, 2022) – Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today released new details about the game’s Notebook, which stores information about the original characters, relics, primeval creatures and more.
The 3D Action RPG arrives on September 2, 2022 on PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™ and Steam® in North America and Europe.
Original story features characters from Made in the abyss
In “DEEP IN ABYSS” mode, many characters of Made in the abyss appear as the story unfolds. The main character who becomes a Cave Raider grows with the help of more experienced Cave Raiders from the Orphanage Nat, Shiggy, as well as the help of Black Whistle Hablog and others. These well-known characters from Made in Abyss appear in the main story or are sometimes shown as a connection to the main character in side missions.
At the beginning of “DEEP IN ABYSS” Riko and Reg have already left for the bottom of the Abyss. We will meet them during our exploration.
As you progress to deeper tiers, you can visit facilities where a White Whistle (the highest rank) is located, such as the Seeker Camp in the second tier of the Abyss, and the frontline base in the fifth tier of the Abyss. There are also quests involving the current White Whistles, Ozen, and Bondrewd.
Strive to complete your notebook
The Notebook, which is carried by the main character, records a variety of information, including people they met, relics obtained in the Abyss, and primeval creatures they encountered. Primeval creatures can be recorded in the notebook by observing them with a monocular. Be careful when using the monocular as the field of view is limited so it is necessary to get a little close to observe them.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is an action RPG in which players themselves descend into the world of the Abyss and grow through their experience in the depths. The game, overseen by original series author Akihito Tsukushi, recreates the world of the Abyss in 3D, including battles with creatures, collecting relics and “The Curse of the Abyss”. Fans are sure to enjoy the dark fantasy that stays true to the unique flavor of the original work.
The game offers two game modes. “HELLO ABYSS” is a story mode where players can relive the story of the anime while learning the basic system and how to progress in the game. In “DEEP IN ABYSS”, players can enjoy an original story about a new Cave Raider, who takes on the challenge of exploring the depths of the Abyss. Many characters from Made in the abyss appear, and event scenes are fully voiced by the anime’s cast.
