Although the not mapped movie told a brand new Nathan Drake story, there were still plenty of Easter eggs and sequences that fans of the original PlayStation games were familiar with. There are five games in Naughty Dog’s not mapped franchise, including four consecutive games focused on Nathan Drake and an additional spin-off game, which primarily focused on one of Drake’s partners in crime, Chloe Frazer. The not mapped games offer plenty of exciting action-packed sequences, and the not mapped movie was certainly inspired by some of them, despite focusing on Nathan Drake’s life before the events of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The not mapped movie stars Tom Holland as the infamous Nathan Drake, and Mark Wahlberg as his reluctant friend and treasure-hunting partner Victor Sullivan (aka Sully). The not mapped The film sees Sully recruit a young Nathan to help him recover explorer Ferdinand Magellan’s fortune, which was lost to The House of Moncada more than 500 years ago. This is Nathan’s first real treasure hunting mission, and his inexperience is evident throughout the film, making this chapter in the not mapped movie franchise feels more like an origin story than anything else. Nathan’s first encounter with Chloe (Sophia Ali), for example, is not shown in the games, but their dynamics are nonetheless similar in the film adaptation. The disappearance of Nathan’s brother Sam is also heavily implied in this film, which is a part of Nate’s story that is only explored in the games. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Although the not mapped film takes cues from the video games and keeps the same vibe and sense of danger and fun, it did well to pick an entirely new story to open its franchise with. In this way the film is separate from the not mapped the story of games, allowing for changes that will leave audiences intrigued to find out how this younger version of Nathan Drake becomes the man they know and love from the not mapped spell. To ensure that the public’s adaptation of not mappedthe movie was clearly inspired by some famous sequences from the games, one of which was even ripped straight from the movie Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Here is every set of the not mapped movie recognizable from the Naughty Dog games.

The cargo plane

The not mapped movie opens with a shot of Nathan Drake dangling upside down in the air, held up only because his foot is caught in the net of a freight container. This series was ripped directly from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, in which Nathan also climbs back to a plane via various freight containers, while dodging and fighting the villain’s henchmen. This is such an iconic series from the games, it’s no wonder the movie wanted to use it as one of its great set pieces. It establishes reverence for the source material and no doubt attracts fans of the games to see what the film has in store. Despite the stories of not mapped and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Since it’s completely different, the sequence works well in both stories, showing off Nathan’s impressive physical skills and quick thinking.

The Drake Brothers Go On A Mission

The not mapped movie delves into Nate’s older brother Sam Drake much more than the games. In fact, after the opening tease of the cargo plane series, the film shows a much younger Nathan (Tiernan Jones) and a teenage Sam (Rudy Pankow) sneak out of the orphanage and break into a museum to steal a world map created to Magellan’s failed expedition. Unfortunately for them, they are caught and Nathan and Sam are forcibly separated. In Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, a similar sequence is shown to a series of flashbacks in the game, in which Sam tells his younger brother that he has managed to find his mother’s belongings, and they break into the house where those belongings are currently held. Both series end in the same way: Sam has to leave and leave Nate alone.

Infiltrate an auction

Nathan and Sully’s First Mission Together in the not mapped The film has them infiltrate an exclusive antiques auction to steal a gold cross with a link to Magellan’s crew. Although the heist doesn’t go quite according to plan, Nate and Sully manage to get away with the cross, and the hunt for Magellan’s treasure can begin in earnest. A similar robbery takes place in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, though Nathan, Sully and Nate’s long-lost brother Sam instead infiltrate a black market auction to steal a clue that could lead them to pirate captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure, and Nate is ambushed by mercenary Nadine Ross. . The movie version of this scene is slightly more humorous than in the game, as Nate manages to take down an entire light installation and Sully manages to get away with the coveted cross by dressing up as an auction house employee.

Ships in a cave

During the end of the not mapped In the film, Nathan and Sully Magellans discover two lost ships full of treasure in an abandoned cave in the Philippines. This discovery is very similar to the latest discovery in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, in which Nathan and his long-lost brother Sam find Henry Avery’s lost treasure and ship, also hidden in an ancient cave in the mythical pirate utopia Libertalia. Although the ships belonged to two different travelers and contain very different backstories, the visual similarities between these two sequences are undeniable. However, the two discoveries end very differently. In the not mapped movie, Magellan’s two ships are lifted from the caves by the villain Jo Braddock (Tati Gabrielle), then destroyed and sunk. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endeventually burns the ship to ashes after an epic sword fight with Uncharted 4‘s villain, Rafe Adler.

The scenes after the credits

The not mapped movie has two scenes after the credits. While none of these sequences are taken directly from the games, they do indicate certain familiar ones not mapped story is correct. In the first scene after the credits, Nate and Sully negotiate a “old nazi map.” While this could technically refer to anything, it seems like a likely setup for the first one not mapped game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Drake’s fortune sees Nate and Sully searching for the mythical golden city of El Dorado, and their search is accelerated after finding numerous clues on a Nazi submarine, including a map.

The second scene after the credits of not mapped hints at Sam’s incarceration. A figure shrouded in darkness, but believed to be Sam, scribbles a note on a postcard addressed to Nate. In Uncharted 4Sam and Nate are only reunited after Sam escapes from prison, where he was left to his own devices after Nate believed he had been killed in a previous escape attempt.

Although the not mapped film had to overcome some tough reviews, but still reached a total of $400 million at the worldwide box office (via Box Office Mojo). Sony has reportedly been impressed with the film’s reception, but has labeled it the start of an ongoing film franchise. Uncharted 2 has yet to be officially announced. In any case the not mapped movies would still have many storylines to explore, including Nathan and Sam’s reunion, Nathan’s growing friendship with Sully, and the introduction of not mapped character Elena Fisher, who played an integral role in the video games and eventually becomes Nathan’s wife. Plenty of iconic action sequences remain to inspire the visual spectacle of the movie sequels, such as Nathan having to climb his way back on a train that dangles over the edge of a cliff, from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If Sony decides to not mapped film franchise has given the green light, there is certainly a lot more exciting to tell.
