As a Game Preview title, Last oasis would always be adapted and changed over time. Today, with the release of Season 5 content and the LOverhaul update, we see the introduction of a vastly improved, vastly rewarding experience.

Last Oasis gives players the opportunity to roam a post-apocalyptic open world, a world where nomads try to survive in a world hit by a scorching sun. It lets us make the most of Walkers, adaptable wind-powered land ships that aid in navigation and traverse. The Walkers’ battle is real, though, as you try to keep yourself alive against all odds – and countless enemies.

Last Oasis has been available for the past year and a half on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in Game Preview form, as well as on PC via Steam Early Access. Today Last Oasis gets a massive update. It sees the arrival of Season 5, but it’s the LOverhaul update that is the most significant change in the game so far.

Last Oasis’ major ‘LOverhaul’ update delivers a vastly improved and rewarding experience that will appeal to new players and the most experienced nomads alike, all thanks to the introduction of PvE gameplay. Here you can build solid bases as a starting point, collect resources and schemes to improve technology, and craft massive Walker machines to boldly explore the new PvE landscapes.

Cooperative and strategic elements will come to the fore here as newcomers can build up their newfound skills, play solo or join groups to defeat increasingly difficult enemies. You have to prepare for the longest battles and face the giant Papak frogs and Gogo boulder monsters that are coming your way.

Of course, you can also join the PvP servers for bigger challenges, rewards and loot.

In addition, LOverhaul adds gameplay improvements, including automatics, remote weapons and more, so that the lone wolf can find success. Solo players no longer need to ally with clans made up of hundreds of players to survive. Granted, bigger clans might wage wars to seize power and run the economy, but cunning traders, skilled mercenaries, agile hunters, and adventurous pirates will find themselves better suited to the solo experience.

“The Season 5 ‘LOverhaul’ update is designed to attract new and returning players by introducing PvE-focused maps and gameplay that is both inviting and a more cooperative way to progress,” said Donkey Crew’s Creative Director and Last Oasis Project Lead, Florian Hofreither. “Whether their journey is solo focused or players decide to team up with friends, we’ve revised the gameplay loop to provide new and exciting moments around exploration, crafting, and monster hunting that cater to every playstyle in the oasis. ”

The main features of Season 5 in Last Oasis are:

  • PvE Maps – Nomads can play solo or with a small group of friends at their own pace. Higher PvE cards offer higher risk, but also better rewards.
  • Giant Monsters – Experience colossal monster challenges and earn new technology and resources by taking out huge boss-type creatures. Many of them have also been tamed by Rupus and have siege weapons attached to them on wooden platforms for the ultimate challenge.
  • New Siege Weapon Types – Players now have access to a variety of new weapons to use in both PvE and PvP, including Stingers, Rokkers and many more. They can all be controlled by the Walker driver.
  • Vending Machines and Remote Weapons – Solo players can rely on independent technology to take out enemies while worrying about steering their walker in the right direction. No clan? No problem!
  • Schemes – Schemes allow players to easily craft or build specific items or structures, completely transforming progress and the player-run economy.
  • Completely Overhauled Travel System – Leave your base more often in search of unique resources found on Last Oasis’ massive world map. Choose your adventure destination and return home with huge loot!
  • Smarter Creatures – All creatures have unique behavior patterns, attacks, and other characteristics. Players can fight them on both Walkers and the ground, depending on size and temperament.
  • New Rupu Types and Revised Rupu Camps – Fortified enemy Rupu Camps require careful planning and preparation to raid. Those with manned Rupu weapons also need a strong Walker to survive.

You can now play Last Oasis on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Store link is here) and PC via Steam. Remember it is still in Early Access / Game Preview form.
