Destiny 2s meta may not currently favor grenade launchers, both heavy and special, but this weapon archetype has managed to hold its pretty powerful position for quite some time. After being meta in the game over a year ago, they are slowly starting to come back and take on a more prominent role.
Grenade launchers are fantastic utility weapons. They can deal damage quickly, blind certain enemies and remove enemies from the rankings. Since the game also has two different flavors of grenade launchers, players can choose whether they prefer a heavy one or a special one. A holdover from the Splicer season, Ignition Code was one of the best grenade launchers at the time for several reasons. First of all, it was ideal for endgame PVE content, as it could occupy the Kinetic slot while leaving the Energy slot for a primary weapon and the Heavy slot for a damage weapon.
It could also work with the Blinding Grenade advantage, making it a cheap and accessible option for any PVE enthusiast who wanted a great utility weapon for most endgame PVE content. Blinding grenades are generally a must-have for many grenade launchers, and they were especially sought after with Ignition Code.

Xur’s Treasury in Eternity
Players who would rather not wait for Ignition Code to roll into Xur’s rotating inventory can also try grinding for Pardon Our Dust, another Kinetic grenade launcher and can also roll with the very useful Blinding Grenade perk. In any case, this weapon is a good backup for those who couldn’t get a detonator code.
This one is much easier to get by simply completing some Dares of Eternity and using the Treasure Keys to open the chest in Eternity next to Xur. Please note that some RNG is also involved here, so a Pardon Our Dust is not always guaranteed.

In anticipation of Arc 3.0, Salvager’s Salvo could be a useful pick-me-up for many players. It’s in the Energy slot and deals Arc damage, and since it was once one of the seasonal weapons in Lot 2it comes with some incredibly juicy perks that are worth playing around with.
To get this grenade launcher, players can easily purchase it from the Legacy Gear tab in the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The perk options include Vorpal Weapon of Chain Reactions and Ambitious Assassin of Demolitionist. These are all some of the best perks out there for grenade launchers.

Dungeon Duality
Season 17 introduced players to the Duality dungeon that delves deep into Calus’ mind, with some very unique and cool looking weapons. Among them is a Stasis grenade launcher that can be found in the Kinetic Weapon Slot, which can have some cool perks.
Players should look for one that has some of the following benefits: Auto-Loading Holster, Vorpal Weapon, Kill Clip, and even Blinding Grenades. It pairs very well with some Stasis builds for just about all classes.
4 The Grip of Salvation
While most of the other grenade launchers on this list are there for their good perks or damage, Salvation’s Grip is here for its unique utility. Have you ever wondered how some players manage to get beyond the limits? Lot 2? Or climbing to otherwise inaccessible locations? Salvation’s Grip is the answer.
This grenade launcher spits out Stasis shards, which are useful when players want to create a platform to climb on. It’s a well-known Exotic among players exploring out-of-bounds areas in the game, but its usefulness in PVP and PVE is highly questionable.

The Vox Obscura Exotic Quest in Savathun’s Throne World
The Dead Messenger is a very interesting exotic grenade launcher, due to its ability to change its element. This can make it a powerful weapon of choice in PVE activities where players must have multiple types of elemental damage to deal with shielded enemies and the like, though Arbalest will still be the more obvious choice.
The Dead Messenger can be obtained through the Vox Obscura Exotic quest. One of the more unique aspects of this weapon is that it fires in a cone-shaped area of effect, which increases its effectiveness, especially when clearing ads.

Another fantastic ad-clearing weapon is the Witherhoard. It’s one of the must-have PVE weapons every player should have Lot 2especially in combination with the catalytic converter that gives it an Auto-Loading Holster.
Witherhoard fires a projectile slug that will destroy the target. It also creates pools of this pest on the ground, killing enemies quickly. Enemies affected by the plague also leave a devastated area. In both PVP and PVE, it’s a pretty annoying weapon to deal with and has been in a powerful position in the game’s meta for a while now.

Vow of the disciple raid, craftable
Forbearance is one of the few editable grenade launchers in the game, along with Explosive Personality. Forbearance is a slightly better option overall, though, even if it’s not as accessible as players have to complete encounters in the Vow of the Disciple raid. It takes five cartridges to unlock it for crafting.
Players should look for perks like Chain Reaction and Ambitious Assassin. Its intrinsic advantage Souldrinker is extremely powerful in PVE, which will regenerate the player’s health depending on how many kills they scored before reloading the weapon.
Lot 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
