Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is slated for release in 2023, and fans can’t wait to see Respawn Entertainment’s sequel to the much-loved Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game continues Cal Kestis’ journey, and while a trailer has hinted at what’s about to happen, it’s still unclear what the next step in his journey will be. Between fan theories and trailer breakdowns, the internet is full of speculation about this game.
The former won the hearts of fans thanks to the complete gameplay experience coupled with an interesting and entertaining story that intertwined the story of an original character with the canon lore that the fandom is obsessed with. With the game seemingly on the horizon, it’s fun to think about which one Star Wars characters can appear in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
8 ninth sister
An important rule in the world of Star Wars is that if a character isn’t seen and confirmed dead on screen, there’s a good chance they’re still alive. The Ninth Sister served as a primary enemy for Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderand although Cal defeats her at Kashyyyk, her demise is not absolute.
After her defeat, she falls backwards into a heavy bush of vegetation. It is not clear if she will again be an active antagonist for Cal in Star Wars Jedi: Survivorbut the idea of the Ninth Sister popping up as a primary cameo isn’t such a bizarre idea.
7 Inquisitor Revac
Reva Sevander was one of the main inquisitors in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Her hatred of Jedi stemmed directly from what she believed to be the passivity of people like Obi-Wan Kenobi to protect them. Because when that show and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place, it’s entirely possible that she could appear in the game at any point in her journey.
Players may accidentally encounter her while hunting for Master Kenobi, but Cal may also encounter the Lost Power User after the events of the show where she no longer appears to be part of a faction. Either way, the character’s story seems far from over, and she could play a part in Cal’s understanding of the Jedi, its power, and what it means to be fueled by rage and rage.
6 Greez Dritus
Greez Dritus was the tough pilot of the Stinger Mantis who grew up on Cal as well as on the crowd. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Despite being rough around the edges, Greez was loyal to his crew at the end of the day and would do anything to help them.
As Cal has aged, it’s reasonable to assume he could have become a capable pilot in five years, so while Greez may not be the first pilot in Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorIt’s hard to imagine a world where Respawn Entertainment doesn’t reward players with a little more Greezy cash, baby!
5 Obi-Wan Kenobi
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ show and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are both confirmed to take place in or around 9BBY (9 years before the Battle of Yavin). Fans expected a surprise cameo from Cameron Monaghan as Cal Kestis on the show, but it never materialized.
Now it seems much more likely that Cal Obi-Wan sees and witnesses the famous Jedi’s escape from the Empire, or anything close to that. Anyway, here’s hoping that if Obi-Wan shows up in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Respawn Entertainment can feature Ewan McGregor’s voice.
4 Jaro Tapal
Star Wars is a series that loves a good flashback. It aids in establishing past relationships and can provide context for current emotional developments and feelings. Jaro Tapal was Cal Kestis’ original Jedi master, but sadly passed away after Order 66. Sure, fans saw a lot of scenes where Tapal mentored and trained Cal in the first game, but now that Cal is coming of age, the idea of more flashbacks seems appropriate.
Jedi Masters are meant to teach their Padawan about life and their place in the universe, questions that Cal will likely still be dealing with. Add in the idea of romantic relationships coming up and a scene of Tapal discussion affirmation and that’s a given at the time.
3 Cere Junda
With both Cal and Cere aging five years between the two games, it’s likely the latter won’t serve as a mentor as much as in the first game. Cal grows into a man and capable Jedi. Cere, on the other hand, has a lot of trauma that she is still working through.
She may spend time with Merrin and help her develop her skills, but the idea that Cere still guides Cal as strongly as in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is not so likely.
2 Night Nurse Merrin
Nightsister Merrin was a welcome surprise in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and played a big part in the final act of the game. Towards the end of the game, she not only saved Cal from drowning, but joined the crew aboard the Stinger Mantis. Fans hope she becomes a playable character in the sequel, or at least plays a big part in the overall story.
Her kind, Zabrak, has been one that Star Wars fans have begged regarding more knowledge. Darth Maul is of the same species, and although his appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is highly unlikely, that doesn’t mean his species can’t be explored through Merrin. Also, fans are wondering if her and Cal’s uneasy romantic advances could lead to something more in the sequel.
1 BD-1
This is an easy no-brainer as the tiny little droid known as BD-1 stole the hearts of fans everywhere. Droids generally play a big role everywhere Star Wars and, despite their limitations, often gain so much personality when it comes to communication and emotional expression.
As Cal Kestis continues his journey, there will likely come a point where his relationship with BD-1 will be tested in a major way. Whether that’s a plot in which BD-1 gets temporarily damaged, or the droid is kidnapped, Cal is likely to have more emotionally resonating moments with BD-1 in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
