MMORPGs are some of the most intimidating games to play. With huge storylines, tons of features, and sprawling player communities that have often been playing the game for years, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
Mortal Online 2considers itself one of the most immersive MMOs out there, and that claim is believable when you consider its intricate world, combat and communities. The same features that make the game great can also make it hard to experience for the first time. Fortunately, there are a few quick tips that can make it much easier to get into the game. 8 Ignore launch speed
It’s a common complaint among new players that characters move too slowly. The first thing to keep in mind is that different races move at different speeds, so depending on your pick at the start of the game, one may move more slowly than the other. That said, the player will be able to build up their speed later on, so it’s still worth playing whichever race the player is most interested in.
The character starts the game at level 0, with their stats in the toilet. At the start of the game, characters will move slowly regardless of their race, so it’s important to keep the scale of the game in mind. The game is huge and it’s easy to get frustrated trying to run through a forest on your way to a city to complete a mission, but stick with it. Speed will come as the character improves.
7 Understanding Statistics
Race and Clades affect the player’s starting stats, but those aren’t the only things that do. The game doesn’t lock the character in their choice of skills, which gives the player tremendous flexibility in that area, but the player cannot change their race or clades.
The character’s age, height, and weight also play a role in determining their stats, so it’s important to consider the effect the character’s body will have on their abilities. For example, older characters have lower dexterity but higher intelligence. The player has to take all of these into account when creating his character. These choices are important for role-playing purposes, but unlike other games, they are also important mechanically.
6 Make use of teachers
Haven contains a variety of teachers and by communicating with them, the player can get a variety of free skills. The battle teacher in the middle of the city can unlock skills for the player and grant free skill points. Even if the player doesn’t plan on using a specific weapon skill, it wouldn’t hurt to stop by a teacher and pick up a free skill in case they change their mind later.
There are tutors for crafts, cooking, anatomy, taming and other skills in or just outside the city, and it takes so little time to get free skills from them that it is always worth it for new players. While veterans more familiar with the game may forgo these tutors in favor of more exciting activities right away, for new players it’s worth stopping by.
5 Collect everything
The location determines the materials available for collection. Some of the ingredients can be very hard to find in other cities, so it’s worth transporting materials that the player thinks they will need later. Haven has an excellent selection of materials, and sensible players will take advantage of this fact by grabbing everything they can.
Carrots, cabbage, and other seemingly innocuous plants that would be nearly worthless in other RPGs can be valuable in certain circumstances, especially if the player has ventured beyond the confines of Haven and the wider world. The player is encouraged to stock up on whatever he has room for before leaving. If they discover something interesting along the way, they can always dump their other goods in favor of the new treasure.
4 Using Instance Codes
By approaching the statue in the center of Haven, the player can enter an instance code so friends can join the same instance. Alternatively, the player can use this code to enter their own private server (at least until the game adds other players to it) so they can take the hassle out of this busy MMO, at least temporarily.
The last option is excellent if the player wants to grind an area solo, because this can be one of the more difficult multiplayer games. This may not be the best option for an absolute beginner, but for new players who are still finding their way around the game and trying to improve a bit more before heading out into the wider world, using the Haven Instance Code can be a good way to jump-start one’s adventurous career.
3 Read Wide and Wise
When the player starts using books to unlock skills, it is easy to think that the player should read every single book. The reading book in particular is one that many players are attracted to first, but it is possible to build one’s reading skills by simply reading books that contain skills that the character may be more interested in.
Reading related books within the same skill tree can even improve certain skills, saving the player time and allowing them to act faster. Unfortunately, it’s not always clear what this will do, but it’s worth looking through the skill tree for synergies, because while grinding is possible in other ways (and the player will do a lot of it), it’s always good to reduce the grind whenever possible.
2 Farming materials to get stronger
Even if the player doesn’t plan on chopping or mining wood later in the game, it’s worth doing some material farming in Haven. Doing this builds up the character faster than otherwise, sometimes it even helps the character advance in areas they wouldn’t suspect.
Mortal Online may be one of the best MMOs to play, but it is still possible to get stuck. If the player finds himself stuck – and fails to raise a certain stat that just doesn’t seem to improve – it’s worth taking a short walk to some materials and start harvesting. A few minutes with an ax or pickaxe can do wonders for a character.
1 Don’t take the game too seriously
In mortal online 2, the player does not lose their core stats and skills, and anything that the player may lose (such as equipment and items) can be easily replaced. There’s no reason to worry too much, even if you get screwed by another player or get killed by mobs unexpectedly. Death eventually happens to everyone.
Most importantly, the player has fun, and while some elements of the game can be frustrating at times, it doesn’t help to dwell on them too much. While other MMORPGs have come and gone,Mortal Online 2 stuck because it’s fun. One should invest time in the parts of the game that they enjoy the most and try not to be too scared if something goes wrong. There is always another adventure around the corner.
