However, there are some players who have no idea what they are doing and as such make quite a few missteps while playing the game. There are a few things players should know, such as common mistakes they may encounter while playing through Digimon Survivaland why they are not a good idea.

7 Wrong positioning

Surprisingly, the positioning of a player’s Digimon is incredibly important when it comes to turn-based combat in the game. Where the player’s Digimon is plays an important role, such as which Digimon takes more damage, and so on and so forth.

Often times, players put their Digimon in any position they want – such as a lower-health Digimon on the front line – and wonder why they’re having a hard time. It’s amazing how a simple reshuffle of who goes where can do wonders for a player’s success in the battles they’re fighting.

6 Making choices without thinking

There are multiple choices a player has to make Digimon Survival. These aren’t just choices about which teams go into which battles, or which Digimon a player should focus on building – there will be multiple choices in the dialogue, which can affect gameplay.

Most new players of Digimon Survival could treat the visual novel aspect of the game a little lighter than the combat aspect. Depending on a player’s choices, one of their favorite Digimon could even be killed, forced into a less impressive digivolution, or even worse.

5 Forgot to use free battles

It turns out that there are multiple free fights in the game – Free fights is a specific game mode that, as the name suggests, is free to enter. Many players may not realize that these free battles are one of the best ways for a player to recruit new Digimon.

However, a player may not realize that he cannot just work his way through. They will have to talk to the new Digimon; depending on the things they say, the Digimon may leave them or be recruited into their team.

4 Abuse of the adult lighting plates

There’s something every player should know when it comes to their Digimon – it’s a free ticket to Digivote a chosen Digimon into Champion form. This is something that is irreversible; a player must carefully choose who to digivolve.

Most players who get a Mature Enlightenment Slab will spend the first one on a useless Digimon that will be pushed to the back burner in the late game. It would be a good idea for a player to take some time to figure out which Digimon would do best if they were digital and which ones wouldn’t.

3 Breaking the party apart

Thanks to the turn-based, grid-like map, it’s easy for a player to split his share of Digimon apart and force everyone to go down separate paths. This is by far one of the worst ideas when it comes to team success.

It turns out that splitting Digimon’s party is a terrible idea. This is because, once the party is split up, it will be much easier for Digimon to be taken apart, plus it will be much harder for a player to survive a battle.

2 Forgot a healer

players need to have a Digimon on their team dedicated solely to healing. Many players think they can manage without a healer, but that’s not true – the enemies will deal huge amounts of damage and some degree of survivability is necessary.

Usually it is a good idea for a player to have at least one healer on the team, and at least one Digimon with a lot of damage. This makes it easier to take down the enemies while also allowing the player to survive to the end.

1 Wasting stat increases

Fortunately, a player can temporarily boost their Digimon’s stats as they progress through the game and prepare for battle. A player can do this by talking to his Digimon, which will give him a stat boost.

However, due to the fact that these stat boosts are temporary, many players waste them on a useless turn. As such, a player must wait until they are ready to unleash their most powerful attack (and fight a particularly tough enemy or a boss fight) before these stat boosts can be fully utilized.

Digimon Survival is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
