While the 2022 major releases are very thin on the Xbox Game Studios side, Xbox Game Pass subscribers aren’t left out. The library continues to grow and it has been a very successful summer so far. Personally, I love being able to switch from my Steam Deck to my Xbox Series X to continue my games in the cloud. In addition, there will be a few more competitions at the end of the month that we follow closely. I am thinking of Two Point Campus and Immortality, among others. Until then, we’ve put together a short list of five games that recently arrived on Xbox Game Pass that we highly recommend.

Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Inside Playdead studio

After the excellent Limbo, the indie studio Playdead came to us with another beautiful nugget titled Inside. Although it was released 6 years ago, it is still one of the best 2D platformers. With ingenious puzzles, a captivating story, sublime visuals and an excellent soundtrack, it takes the genre to the next level in every way possible. If you’ve never explored it before or want to dive back into it, Xbox Game Pass is for you.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge from Tribute Games

Those nostalgic for the good old days of TMNT games have been very well served recently with the release of Shredder’s Revenge. Obviously expectations were high and we wish the Montreal studio Tribute Games every success for the occasion. However, in addition to respecting the essence of the original series, the developers have pushed the nut further by providing the option to play with 6 players. Plus, the gameplay is stronger than ever and the music is just as upbeat as it was back then, so that’s a strong recommendation.

When dusk falls from the interior night studio

If you’re a fan of history and games like Telltale or Quantic Dream, then you should definitely do As Dusk Falls. This one pushes the boundaries of the previous games from which it was inspired with even more choices and possible ramifications in the scenario. It follows the epic of two families whose fates intersect in spite of themselves and is riddled with twists and turns. In my opinion, it is the perfect game to play as a couple at home or in the evening with friends, as it is worthy of an excellent TV series. Basically, you will have many discussions with the other members of your entourage who will have completed it and you will probably all have very different experiences. In short, Xbox Game Studios has hit the bull’s eye by adding it to its Xbox Game Pass service.

Fishlabs studio choir

From the mouth of our editor Kevin, Chorus is part of what we de hidden gems. Too few people will get the chance to get used to it, but it still deserves our attention. If you’re nostalgic for the good old days of Star Fox, this game more than does it justice. In addition, the narrative framework is excellent and it comes with several varied and fun secondary missions. According to our editor, Fishlabs has developed one of the best space games of recent years, nothing less than that. The fact that it’s available on Game Pass makes it more accessible than ever and well worth investigating.

Her Story by Sam Barlow

We love what Sam Barlow is doing with his FMV games. This technique makes it possible to integrate filmed scenes directly into a game, highlighting the talent of the actors. Obviously you have to love the genre as it is more like miniseries than video games. Her story is distinguished both by the narration, but also by the unusual game mechanics. If you like thrillers or detective series, this one will definitely fall for you. It’s not for nothing that we are impatiently waiting for his next game, Immortality, which is scheduled for the end of August. Finally, we also take the liberty of recommending his other game, Telling Lies, also offered on Xbox Game Pass.

Other honorable mentions new to Xbox Game Pass

Finally, while we didn’t put them on our list, we wanted to make an honorable mention to two other games. Marc recently tested Powerwash Simulator and I admit it’s a game I was totally immersed in. There is such great satisfaction to clean everything with our high pressure hose. It’s no surprise that this is one of the titles that has attracted the most attention for the service. Otherwise, the Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising game offers an interesting little adventure for fans of JRPGs. This forms the basis for Suikoden’s highly anticipated spiritual sequel, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. While the game is much more modest, it’s an interesting intro for a very reasonable price.
