We have a long wait ahead of us for Weird stuff Season 5. There’s always a long wait between seasons, but since this is the final season, it makes sense that the Duffer Brothers would want to take the time to make sure the final season is as good as it gets.

On the plus side, the wait time between season 4 and season 5 shouldn’t be nearly as long as the long hiatus between seasons 3 and 4, which mainly came down to filming the show in various locations and the pandemic that cut a six-month hiatus. months during filming.

Still, we’ll probably wait until at least the summer of 2024 to see how the show ends. So what do we do in the meantime to keep busy? Fortunately, there are many ways to keep yourself locked in the Weird stuff world while you wait for new episodes.

Read the books

Weird stuff has expanded well beyond the confines of a Netflix TV show. There are two novels for adults and three for young readers, but if you’re a diehard fan, I recommend reading all five. While the books are not officially canon, more canon compliant, they are still fun and can provide additional insight into the characters you love most.

  • suspicious thoughts – Learn the truth about Eleven’s mother
  • Darkness on the Edge of the City – Chief Jim Hopper talks about his days as a detective in New York City to eleven
  • Runaway Max – Dive into Max Mayfield’s backstory and learn more about her relationship with Billy
  • Rebel Robin – Backstory in Robin Buckley, there is also an accompanying podcast called Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins and Maya Hawke reprises her role as Robin for it
  • Luke on the line – The newest Weird stuff book focuses on Lucas Sinclair and picks up where season 3 left off

Read the comics

Like the books, Weird stuff also has a huge and exciting world of comics and graphic novels to explore. Many side characters get their day in the spotlight in the comics, including minor characters like the bully Troy, Kali (008) and Lucas’ younger sister, Erica.

There are also fun Christmas specials such as a Halloween and Christmas one-shot and at least one comic book series focuses on an adventure with Bob Newby! We take a closer look at all the comics in this handy guide to all Weird stuff media in chronological order.

Play the Stranger Things games

Did you know that there are a number of different ones? Weird stuff mobile games available to play for free? You have to download the Netflix Games app to play them, but there are a few, including the 16-bit adventure game Stranger Things: The Game that takes place between seasons 1 and 2 and its follow-up, Stranger Things 3: The Game.

The main difference between the two is that: Stranger Things 3 offers co-op play and it is available on more consoles such as Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. There are also real games like Weird stuff Monopoly and the Eggo card game can be bought at the store.

Rewatch the entire show for Stranger Things Season 5

Ever since Weird stuff season 5 will be the final season and we already know it will focus more on the original characters and stay in Hawkins, Indiana, now the best time to watch the broadcast.

In fact, you might want to take another look multiple time to take it all in. I have a strong feeling that the fifth season will contain a lot from callbacks and Easter eggs to the early seasons as a way to celebrate the show’s run and honor its legacy.

Watch the movies and shows that inspired Stranger Things

It is currently well known that Weird stuff is sometimes considered nostalgic porn. The Duffer Brothers love classic movies from the likes of Steven Spielberg and some of the most iconic sci-fi/horror movies.

As such, there are plenty of older projects for you to revisit that can help you appreciate the series more. Below is a short list of movies and television shows that you can watch while you wait for Season 5, but there are tons more and the fan-run wiki has a great list to use as a starting point.

  • Alien (1979)
  • Actually everything from Stephen Kingbooks and movies, but especially these:
    • It (the book specifically, but the 2017 movie is also excellent and the 1990 miniseries might also be worth a look if you really like the story!)
    • career (1976)
    • Christine (1983)
    • fire starter (1984)
    • cujo (1983)
    • Stay with me (1986)
    • The shining (1980)
  • ET the alien (1982)
  • The Evil Death (1981)
  • The Goonies (1985)
  • Halloween (1978)
  • jaws (1975)
  • A nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
  • poltergeist (1982)
  • Star Wars Trilogy (1977-1983)
  • the exorcist (1973)
  • Ghostbusters (1984)
  • Indiana Jones trilogy (1981-1989)
  • Gremlins (1984)
  • Jura- Park (1993)
  • The karate kid (1984)
  • Super 8 (2011)
  • Sixteen candles (1984)
  • cheers (1982-1993)
  • Twin Peaks (1990-1991)

Again, this is a very small list compared to the sheer amount of influences and pop culture references throughout the show, but it’s a fantastic place to start!
