QuakeCon was held online between August 18 and 20 and Betheseda fans rejoiced in the competitions, talks, giveaways and news from the event, among other things. The company has amassed thousands of loyal followers since the creation and publication of successful titles such as: The Elder Scrolls, precipitation, and demise and next year fans will be able to play their highly anticipated new titles:starfield and redfall.
Bethesda is known for improving gaming experiences and innovating gameplay. Their games are highly regarded by gamers and video game platforms, and they have won more than a few “game of the year awards” with their multiple extraordinary titles. But as much as they’ve become one of the most accomplished game development studios in history, Bethesda isn’t free from fans eager to laugh at some of their most infamous traits with hilarious memes that could sum up the company.
10 Skyrim Relaunched
Skyrim became one of the best video games ever made. The exciting open world, beautiful landscapes, endless missions and game freedom made the fifth title of The Elder Scrolls a groundbreaking masterpiece, and Bethesda doesn’t seem to want to let go of its precious game.
It’s been over a decade Skyrim first launched, but Bethesda continues to release new upgrades and recently the special edition was made available for Nintendo Switch; making them look like Sheen was showing Ultra Lord to Ms. Fowl for the seventh time in Jimmy Neutron.
9 Engine re-users
Many have criticized Bethesda’s Creation Engine, pointing out that it is in dire need of an upgrade, but most have been tough on the company, as many other developers with the most popular open-world games use old engines and are not criticized for it.
However, Bethesda has listened to the fan’s complaints and for their upcoming game, star field, they have improved their engine. These changes are likely to have a positive impact on the company and hopefully fans will be happy with next year’s releases.
8 fan pleaser
Despite occasionally falling on their fan’s bad side, Bethesda usually goes out of their way to hear their fanbase, and no other fan from their community is more loved and acclaimed than Shirley Curry, better known as Skyrim Grandma.
Her followers started a petition to add her to the game as a character, and Bethesda promised to add her as an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI, who would add Curry to the list of famous people in Skyrim. As a beloved member of the community, Skyrim fans can’t wait to have her there.
7 Secretly
In 2018, Bethesda had a serious problem with: Fallout 76 and some players witnessed their entire beta data being deleted due to a bug. Bethesda is known for having multiple bugs in their launches, and many joked about the accident saying that this bug was downloaded by mistake Skyrim.
Fallout 76 is widely regarded as one of the worst Bethesda games and disappointed more than a few fans. Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard has certainly caught a lot of little bugs in all of their games, but this game definitely stood out, which is as sad as it is funny.
6 Feature Makers
Many fans point out that Bethesda has a certain attitude towards the multiple bugs found in their games. Often, instead of fixing them, they imply that it’s not a bug but a feature. Many like to joke about it, but many companies do the same.
While some may criticize it, others admit that it’s nice to come across one of these “features” and that it makes the gaming experience more amusing and healthy. Each precipitation or Elder Scrolls player has had a better day when something strange happens because of a bug, and their games wouldn’t be the same without them.
5 Bought by Microsoft
In 2020, Bethesda’s pieces became one of the many video games that Microsoft now surprisingly owns the rights to. Bill Gates and Paul Allen’s company bought Bethesda SoftWorks and all their games were added to their Xbox catalog, making them a fierce competitor to Playstation.
This acquisition could mean that Bethesda will no longer be allowed to launch or release games without fixing all their famous bugs, which probably left one or two members of Bethesda’s team crying like a child being forced to finish their homework.
4 Moved to Steam
It’s been a rough few years for Bethesda, and the hard way some people have pointed out that they’ve failed at some important things. In April, Bethesda announced that they were closing their webpage to migrate to Steam, which many believe was due to its recent poor performance.
Since they are now owned by Microsoft and Steam is one of the most successful video game distribution services, their migration is understandable. However, it’s kind of funny how Steam seems to be so powerful that every business falls into their hands.
3 They can learn from CD Projekt
Many video game companies are doing exactly what CD Projekt has decided not to do, so Bethesda and EA aren’t the only companies guilty of reacting like Thanos to Cyberpunk’s announcement. What else could Bethesda do if? Skyrim is still popular enough to be profitable?
Nevertheless, it is disturbing how recently video game companies are constantly charging their customers for things that should be included in the video game in the first place. Games used to charge for a complete package and many are getting tired of the new trends where players have to constantly pay for basic things.
2 Fallout has all their attention
Fallout 3 came out in 2008 and since then Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 has been released. Skyrimon the other hand, was released in 2011 and no other titles from The Elder Scrolls franchise have been launched as the meme indicates.
The only thing fans have gotten since: Skyrim has been an official 37 second announcement teaser in 2018, and it looks like the wait will be a long one and most fans will be drafts by the time it releases.
1 Often in trouble
The year Fallout 76 was released was difficult for Bethesda and their loyal gamers. Within the game’s endless bugs, there was one particularly infamous one that leaked customer personal information, and after so many failures, fans could just beg Bethesda to stop embarrassing themselves.
While many felt sorry for their beloved company, others pointed out that they deserved to be irresponsible. It seems that Bethesda has learned from its failures and has chosen to keep the release date of redfall and starfield to make the latest improvements and prevent more scandals that gamers will use as inspiration for hilarious memes.
