Franchises are usually maintained due to the talent of creating great gameplay that is sometimes mixed with a great story. Sometimes those franchises have little to no story. This usually makes for a lot of interesting creative choices that lead games in a fun direction.
Adding a lot of time to the cute, comfortable feel of the game can make it much better for both the player experience and merchandise sales. These are the video game franchises with some of the cutest designs. The games are judged solely on aesthetics, although the gameplay is also mentioned.
10/10 Undertale
Undertale can have some dark visuals which are quite disturbing in the second half of the game. What makes this game so cute is the exterior and the 8-bit art it chose to go to. Nothing feels conventional, but it’s the unconventional way things look that make them pleasing to the eye.
The ability to have a pacifist run also adds to the cute nature of the game. It gives players the choice to save everyone in sight and that sparks heartfelt antics.
9/10 Katamaric
The Katamari series probably has some of the most intense gameplay this list has to offer. Players have to roll a ball that has everything attached to it. This ball starts with small things like paper clips, but as the game progresses, players will have people and trees stick to their ball to get a certain size of the ball for the king.
The gameplay may sound like the main character is an evil villain, but this quickly changes when players discover that the characters they play are cute micro-creatures with soft designs. The art style of the game is also pleasing to the eye, which makes the gameplay seem a lot less bad.
8/10 Pokemon
Pokemon has some pretty awesome looking creatures for players to catch. That said, it also has a lot of first level Pokemon and even some higher level Pokemon that are cute. This is a franchise that can bring a lot of peace to anyone who has played. There is a rest to catch and fight Pokemon as players try to be the very best.
The different graphic styles that the games have gone through also bring in some merry exciting aspects that some other games don’t.
7/10 Sonic
The Sonic franchise is being slept in by people who aren’t fans of the game in terms of how cute it can get. There is a giant purple man in the series whose name is Big the Cat. He will remind many of Totoro’s players of the Studio Ghibli movie.
The game is known for being fast paced and action packed. Sometimes it is, but when players often notice the game’s setting, they are as cute as they are interesting. Also, the little, little Cheese the Chao that follows around Cream is one of the most adorable characters in gaming.
6/10 Nintendogs
The Nintendogs series lasted quite some time. This was a pretty big hit for Nintendo as it allowed players to raise a dog on their DS. Players could interact with their dogs by using the stylus which created an original experience at the time.
The game offers players beautiful sparkling colors in any desired environment. It’s a joy to own a virtual dog and watch it grow from puppy to adult dog.
5/10 LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet has one of the most enticing settings on this list. The background consists of many different textures reminiscent of fabric. When this is the background, players will want to move through the screen and touch the variations of material.
Sackboy is also as cute as ever. Having to navigate the game’s menu using a giant PlayStation controller is probably one of the best things gamers could have ever received.
4/10 Ni No Kunic
Ni No Kuni adopts the Studio Ghibli art style. The characters have different round anime characteristics. In the game’s setting, there’s a ton of color that pops up, making it visually stunning. Many of the enemies are drawn in such a way that, even if they threaten, they would make a cute stuffed animal in someone’s room.
The art style carries so much on its shoulders in these games. The story of Ni No Kuni is also captivating with charming characters that players will want to know more about.
3/10 Kirby
The Kirby franchise has to be one of the coolest things on this list. Kirby has a cute simple round design that makes people wish they had cute little Kirby pets running around. The great thing is they sell huge Kirby plushes that do the trick.
Besides the stuffed animals, the games are cute. The backgrounds all feel like something out of a cotton candy dream, and the change in Kirby’s appearance as he swallows new enemies never disappoints.
2/10 Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing is iconic because it’s cute. The design of everything in the game puts players in a slightly hypnotic trance with its calming allure. This is one of those games where players can sit back and do the tasks calmly.
Decorating players’ homes and characters can also lead to cute choices. Overall, this series is a recipe for a great time of relaxation. The gameplay also fits the atmosphere perfectly with not too much stress or strain on players.
1/10 Mario
Mario himself may be a little obtuse Italian man that many people may not find cute. What the Mario franchise does is bring out a myriad of cute locations and characters to explore. In every Mario game or game that is part of the franchise, players can find enemies or other characters on the screen that will amaze them.
All games do a great job of creating a calming flow even in tough platforming challenges. The music the games provide is also upbeat and upbeat for the most part.
