Apex Legends players have been begging for Lifeline to be significantly improved or reworked for some time now. The Support character fell behind a wave of Apex Legends additions to the roster with aggressive movement skills and powerful offensive capabilities. For now, Respawn has yet to indicate their plans for Lifeline, although where Respawn declined, Apex Legends players may have found their own way. At least one Lifeline player seems to have figured out a way to go invisible.

GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A Reddit post that recently garnered a lot of attention caught the eye of the mysterious invisible lifeline in action. “Does Lifeline have a secret camouflage buff?” is the title of the post, with a short video attached. In the video, a player enters a room to see an almost invisible Lifeline crouching in front of a door. As the opponent was only half invisible, the player started shooting at them. Unfortunately, they ended up outnumbered and lost their engagement, leaving them confused as to what had happened.

At first glance, it appears to be a strange bug. After all, Lifeline cannot be invisible. Her abilities include dropping a healing drone or summoning a care package. There are also no known weapons, items or equipment that can make a character invisible. As such, perhaps it was a glitch adding transparency to the Lifeline model, or a lighting issue within the room. Maybe she was stuck in the door and Apex Legends buggy displaying it. After all, bugs can create very strange situations.

Any Apex Legends players believe there is something else going on, however. With the way Lifeline sits there as the video player rolls in, it almost feels like they know they’re invisible. Maybe they’re hoping not to be seen, testing a flaw they’ve discovered. It is also possible that there is something more nefarious going on, with Lifeline using an exploit or a cheat.

What is clear from the video is that regardless of whether it is a glitch, exploitation or cheating, most Apex Legends players will not have a serious problem dealing with the issue. The lifeline is transparent enough to draw more attention than otherwise. Of course, this might be less true if the Lifeline was within range of a marksman.

Some good news that comes out of the situation is that this is an idea that Respawn might consider when looking for ways to improve Lifeline. Perhaps a little invisibility is just what the character needs, allowing him to sneak heal his allies or gather his supply crates. It certainly created an exciting encounter in this situation.

Apex Legends is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and mobile devices.
