Muv-Luv alternative Total Eclipse remastered finally brings the popular spin-off of Muv-Luv alternative for non-Japanese audiences with an official English translation. In muv-Luv, humanity has been at war with an alien race called the BETA since 1973. The BETA has gradually overwhelmed the planet, with many countries lost to their overwhelming numbers. The series combines Cold War romance, mecha-action, drama and politics in a world where NATO and the Soviet Union are forced to work together to face a much greater threat.
Muv-Luv alternative Total Eclipse remastered tells the story of Yuuya Bridges, a hot-headed US Tactical Surface Fighter (TSF) pilot who was removed from his unit after a disastrous training accident. He is assigned as a test pilot to Project Prominence, an international TSF development initiative in Alaska tasked with creating a new set of mechas to give humanity an edge over the BETA.
There, Yuuya meets Lieutenant Takamura Yui, a veteran of the fall of Japan who now heads a joint Japanese and American R&D division. Yuuya’s casual attitude often puts him at odds with the more bookish Yui and the rest of Argus Flight, a unit made up of experienced TSF pilots who have all lost their homelands to the BETA. To make matters worse, Yuuya, Yui and the rest of Argus Flight face ongoing political intrigue and rivalry between the East and West from the Cold War.

STORY
May 2001. Yukon Base, Alaska, is home to Project Prominence, an international development initiative for Tactical Surface Fighter (TSF). Here the best pilots and engineers in the world come together to create the weapons that will save the future of humanity.
After being involved in a fatal training accident, American test pilot Yuuya Bridges is removed from his unit and assigned to Argus Flight, a TSF development unit based in the frigid Alaskan wilderness. There, he will work with a joint American and Japanese R&D team to build a new, next-generation fighter for the Empire of Japan.
From the moment he arrives, his cocky, antisocial attitude puts him at odds with the other members of his team, from his fellow test pilots to the project supervisor and his immediate superior, the strict and by-the-book Lieutenant Takamura Yui.
Yui is the daughter of a traditional samurai household, who was the sole survivor of her unit during the battle that destroyed the Empire’s capital. Traumatized by the events of the battle and committed to her family’s code of honor, she dedicates herself fully to her mission, constantly clashing with Yuuya. Their constant fighting soon jeopardizes the entire project.
To make matters worse, Yuuya realizes that the Yukon base is full of international intrigue as each country tries to steal each other’s secrets and ensure that when the war against the BETA is over, they will be the ones with the most powerful weapons .
As the alien threat grows by the day, can he overcome his differences with Yui and complete the weapon that will end the BETA threat forever?
