A Genshin Impact fan points out the similarities between the popular character Baizhu and one of the newly revealed Harbingers – Pantalone.
the recent Genshin Impact teaser “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” attracted a lot of attention in the game’s community. The video shows several of the famous Fatui Harbingers gathered to pay tribute to Rosalyne, better known as La Signora, who was defeated in an epic battle against the mighty Electro Archon Raiden Shogun.
The main reason behind the hype for the trailer is the fact that it’s the first time HoYverse has revealed the faces of all the Fatui Harbingers. A number of fan theories about Harbingers have already started to surface in the Genshin Impact community.
One Precursor in particular called Pantalone has attracted a lot of attention due to its similarities to a popular Genshin Impact character named Baizhu. Reddit user RagnvindrHeir shared an interesting post comparing the similarities between the two characters. Several responses in the comments section claim that based on their appearance, it goes without saying that the similarities are coincidental.
Some fans claim that they could also be the same person and Baizhu’s character could just be a performance by Pantalone to gather as much information as possible from the Liyue region. At the moment, Baizhu is just a famous Genshin Impact NPC known to appear in some missions. He is also the owner of the popular Bubu Pharmacy located in the northern part of Liyue port.
Another popular theory claims that Baizhu and Pantalone are brothers who contrast each other in many ways. Despite the similarities in their appearance, they have completely different color palettes. Baizhu has one of the most colorful character designs in the game, while Pantalone, like many other Harbingers, shares a gray color scheme. Fans suspect that one of the next Genshin Impact stories will likely reveal more information about the two characters.
The only thing about Baizhu is the fact that he was the first Dendro character to appear in the game. This has led many players to believe that he will be the first Dendro Vision holder to join the playable roster, however it appears developer HoYverse had other plans. With the addition of the new Sumeru region, several leaks have already revealed a number of characters expected to arrive in the near future, but none of them mentioned Baizhu’s name.
Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
