The massive scope of the game world of Elden Ring might feel intimidating for new players, but as fans have become more familiar with the game, many have begun to memorize the levels. In fact, one player has shared a clip that shows exactly how important it can be when jumping into Elden Ring's PVP to commit as much of the Lands Between to memory as possible if they don't want to get caught off guard.
This most recent clip comes from Reddit user IAmTheGodkiller, who posted a short clip of their PVP experience to the Elden Ring subreddit. The result is a hilariously short fight that seemingly ends before it really starts thanks to the player's acquired knowledge of every little detail in the legacy dungeon where the invasion takes place.
In the video, the player can be seen walking calmly through Miquella's Haligtree, a legacy dungeon from near the end of the game, before seemingly attacking some random pieces of decorative scenery. However, the video quickly turns as it's revealed that this scenery is really an example of Elden Ring's mimic's veil item in use to hide among other developer placed decorations. This doesn't seem to do the trick, though, as the invader recognizes the slight difference in the area and immediately kills both the host and their summoned helper.
According to the original poster on Reddit, this was a result of how much the player had memorized Miquella's Haligtree, revealing to them where the other players were hiding. Considering how convincing a player imitating decorations with the mimic's veil can be, it's impressive that any player has memorized any of the levels well enough to tell an opponent apart from anything else. Although, even more impressive is the way that the invader is able to instantly kill their opponent, thanks in part to one of Elden Ring's powerful bleed builds.
Now that fans have had time to comb over every inch of Elden Ring, it isn't entirely surprising to see that some fans have committed so much of their favorite levels to memory. Either way, it is still impressive to see that anyone might have walked through a place like Miquella's Haligtree in Elden Ring for long enough to even know whether or not a small piece of decoration belongs there. Not to mention, it's hilarious to see an invader sniff out the host's hiding place and take them down so quickly.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
